At this point, it seems like Hollywood has a never-ending lineup of fictional medical shows on the slate. From new comedy series like St. Denis Medical to long-running shows like Grey’s Anatomy, we’re seeing a clear trend in terms of content. People seem to love a show about doctors!
Well, speaking of medical shows, we’ve got another potential new series to look forward to. Remember Scrubs? Well, it might be returning!
According to Variety, Bill Lawrence is in the process of developing a Scrubs reboot with ABC. Say WHAT?!
This new story would likely follow the same format as the original, single-cam comedy series, though we have yet to learn who would star in this new reboot. While Scrubs originally aired on NBC, the final two seasons moved to ABC.
The original story starred a popular cast of characters, including Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, Ken Jenkins, Donald Faison, Judy Reyes, John C. McGinley, and Neil Flynn. When asked about returning in a reboot, Braff told Variety he would be interested in reprising his role, saying, “The idea of getting back together with my friends and doing like 10 or 12 episodes of maybe one or two seasons, and just laughing with everyone? That sounds like a dream.”
We’ll continue to look for updates as this project moves forward. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest entertainment news, so stay tuned for more.
