Jollywood Nights season is in full swing!
We attended the very first night of the event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on November 9th, 2024, to cover everything. This was quite a controversial event when it debuted in 2023, but we’re back to see what’s changed…including the food! Disney is debuting a long list of new menu items for the event this year and we’re trying it all. Keep scrolling to see EVERY review!
Trolley Car Cafe
When you first walk into Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll pass by Trolley Car Cafe. But don’t overlook this spot for Jollywood Nights because there’s a brand new treat — the Agent P Croissant! This is a waffle croissant dipped in caramel chocolate and topped with mint cream, a chocolate hat, and M&M’S Milk Chocolate Candies.
This was really just a mint chocolate croissant waffle — if you don’t like mint chocolate you’ll want to stay far away because it’s very mint forward. We were let down by the pastry because even though we were literally first in line, it was very tough and stale-like. The theming is adorable though, so we’ve gotta give it points for that (especially that chocolate hat)! We’d rate it a 2/5 since it was cute, but not very impressive to actually eat.
Epic Eats
Down Sunset Boulevard you’ll find Epic Eats which is selling a new drink this year called the Warm Spiced Chai Cocktail! It’s made with Twinings Chai Tea, RumChata Cream Liqueur, vanilla syrup, and cinnamon.
We were so pleasantly surprised by this drink! Immediately it gave us those Christmas warm and fuzzy feelings that you love around the holidays. It was very vanilla and cinnamon-forward, which we didn’t mind, but it meant the tea flavor was a little harder to find at first. This is great for those who aren’t fans of the taste of alcohol because you really can’t notice it. We’d rate it a 4/5 on our gingerbread scale for the night!
Dockside Diner
Looking for a plant-based option? Dockside Diner has you covered. We sent our resident vegan Breedlove to check out the new Samosas. These are potato and pea stuffed samosas with curried chickpeas, herb “crema,” and tomato-pomegranate chutney.
If you’re sensitive to spice, salt, or seasonings, you’ll want to beware of these because they pack a serious punch. Most of the heat comes from the chickpeas, which were wonderful, but they really rely on the tomato pomegranate chutney (and we didn’t really notice any pomegranate in the flavor) to be more palatable for average tastebuds. The dollops of herb crema were delicious, helping to cool the chickpeas. While we applaud Disney for making a truly spicy dish, we do think they could cool it with the salt over here, and we are bummed we didn’t actually get that flavor of pomegranate!
ABC Commissary
This popular quick-service restaurant had several new items to try including another plant-based option! That would be the Cauliflower Taco which is a chili pepper-lime dusted fried cauliflower on top of a corn tortilla with diced onions, cilantro, and a chipotle cashew “crema”.
This was incredible! You could have told us it was meat and we would have believed you. It was so savory, the corn tortilla and cilantro was so fresh, and the cauliflower was fried incredibly. We honestly could go back and buy three of these and be so content!
To drink, we tried the Coquito — a drink made with coconut cream, coconut milk, sweetened condensed milk, Bacardí Rum, and Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum topped with cinnamon.
This unfortunately was a little disappointing. We only tasted the two different types of rum, and the other flavors didn’t come through. It didn’t give us those cozy vibes you normally would expect from this drink, but if you really love alcohol, then maybe this is one you’ll enjoy.
Now it’s time for dessert! The Taco ’bout a Holiday Cookie is a cranberry cheesecake-filled chocolate cookie dipped in cranberry-white chocolate topped with pistachio whipped cream, gold crispy pearls, chocolate holly leaf décor, and holiday sprinkles.
This was adorable and tasted great too! However, these were gingerbread cookies, NOT chocolate as the listing says! Regardless, the gingerbread spices paired really well with the cranberry and white chocolate and we loved the combination of flavors overall. We didn’t mind the change in cookie, but if you’re not a fan of gingerbread then you’ll want to stay away.
Baseline Tap House
Baseline is already home to one of our favorite snacks so we couldn’t wait to try out the new Jollywood Nights-exclusive menu item here. Introducing the Macaroni and Cheese Croquette! Yep, these are gorgeous fried macaroni and cheese with aïoli dipping sauce.
These were very crispy and while we wish the mac and cheese on the inside was a little cheesier, we did enjoy them! They certainly can stand on their own for that price, especially because they’re as large as they are. However, that sauce will hit you HARD, hitting you with a low heat in the back of your mouth.
We also decided to snag the returning Beer Margarita. It’s exactly what it sounds like with a blend of Patrón Silver Tequila, Cointreau Orange Liqueur, and lime juice topped with Scrimshaw Pilsner served over ice.
This was really pricey ($17.50) in our opinion for how basic it was. You get a lot of the margarita flavor up front, that lemon and lime tartness, and then the heavier beer (almost club soda) flavor on the back half. It’s not bad, but we do wish it was a little more festive with a glow cube (especially for that price), different flavors, or different colors.
Ice Cold Hydraulics
Right across the street from Baseline, you’ll find Ice Cold Hydraulics with a new dessert and drink. The Duffy Brownie is a Coca-Cola fudge-filled cherry-white chocolate chip brownie covered in Coca-Cola buttercream and a caramel-chocolate Duffy paw.
This was delicious! It is so unique and the brownie was so soft and moist, and the buttercream helped bring it all together. The Coca-Cola really evened the sweetness of the fudge out, which we appreciated!
Frozen Jack and Coke is a popular drink but Disney puts a slight twist on it as the Dark and Snowy. You can get a cup of a frozen blend of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey and Coca-Cola topped with sweetened coconut cream and cinnamon.
We also really enjoyed this, especially the sweetened coconut cream! It tasted like a classic whiskey and coke with some elevated elements that made it really fun and enjoyable.
PizzeRizzo
Ahhh, PizzeRizzo. One of the most controversial restaurants in all of Disney World. Although this is not our favorite place to eat, we have been impressed with limited-time eats before, so let’s dig in!
We started with the new Italian Beef Sandwich which is made with sliced beef sweet and spicy peppers and Barilla Sweet & Spicy Pepper Pesto served with a side of au jus dipping sauce. This was like a Philly cheese steak without the cheese! The roast beef was tender and didn’t have a lot of fat, we loved that we could taste the preppers so clearly. This is one you’ll likely want to eat quickly because you won’t want it to get cold and soggy, especially since you may dip it into the au jus.
Then it was time to move into the sweets. Check out the Caramel-Mocha Napoleon which is made with layers of puff pastry and caramel mascarpone cream with a whipped coffee crémeux, salted caramel crispy pearls, chocolate curl, and sprinkles. While there wasn’t a whole lot of whipped topping here, we loved the way the flavors all intermingled with each other! The flaky layers on the puff pastry were very brittle on the outside, but the inside was more spongy, which we appreciated. It is going to get very messy, and there’s really no way to eat it other than with your hands, so grab napkins!
Next up is an alcoholic sweet treat for sorbet fans called the Snowppino. This is made with lemon sorbet, prosecco, grappa, and rosemary. This was light and airy with some sugary and floral drinks, which we loved. It was very tame, and it almost reminded us of an alcoholic frozen-style southern lemonade.
The other alcoholic treat here is called Holiday Cheer made with Aperol Apéritif, vodka, Sprite, wild cherry syrup, and house-made rosemary simple syrup with an orange slice and rosemary sprig. This was so nice and bright with that rosemary, the orange undertone was fantastic, and it kept a very true cranberry flavor which we appreciated.
Finally, we also snagged a specialty non-alcoholic beverage called the Cranberry Fizz. Cranberry juice, Sprite, wild cherry syrup, and house-made rosemary simple syrup with lime make up this drink! This is a great option for kids as it’s essentially the same as the Holiday Cheer but minus the alcohol. It’s nothing to write home about, but is still very good!
The Market
The Market is famous for Jack-Jack’s Num Num Cookie, but for Jollywood Nights they are serving a special Caramel-Apple Cider! This drink is made with Werther’s Original Caramel, apple cider, cinnamon, and Ole Smoky Apple Pie Moonshine garnished with a sugar tuile served warm. It’s also available without alcohol.
This was incredible! It’s a great cocktail for people who don’t like the taste of alcohol. It’s sweet, but the main flavor is the spice. We found it to be comforting since the moonshine blends so well with the caramel apple cider. The caramel really comes in the aftertaste, and overall we think this is a really solid drink that’s easy to sip on!
Snack Cart across from Beverly Sunset Boutique
After you check out the merchandise in Beverly Sunset Boutique, Annual Passholders can head to the snack cart outside for an exclusive treat!
The Frozen Espresso Martini is made with Frozen Joffrey’s Coffee Cold Brew, Minute Maid Vanilla Smoothie, SelvaRey Chocolate Rum, and Kahlúa Coffee Liqueur with chocolate sauce and topped with chocolate curls.
This is fine in our eyes — it’s not frozen like it’s listed unfortunately, it’s more of a milky latte texture. It reminds us of a mocha because it’s so chocolatey. You can taste the alcohol just a little bit, and while it’ll be a crowd-pleaser if you like coffee, it’s not like a traditional expresso martini. We wouldn’t say it’s necessarily worth going out of the way for, but if you’re an Annual Passholder and you love chocolate, go for it!
