ALERT! Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Gingerbread House Is Officially OPEN

We’re officially celebrating Christmas at Disney World!

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party starts in just a couple of days, Jollywood Nights follows a day later, and lots of new holiday decor is up around the resort. Now, one of our favorite holiday details at Disney World is officially built and is now OPEN!

The gingerbread house display at Disney’s Grand Floridian is a timeless classic that brings lots of joy to those who experience it. It’s filled with amazing details and TONS of gingerbread. And this year, the house is celebrating its 25th anniversary!

You’ll likely smell the fresh gingerbread as soon as you enter the lobby of the hotel, and if you wander over to the house, you’ll notice the shop inside it is now open!

You can now grab a gingerbread treat from the house. There are lots of options, including the iconic gingerbread shingle, just like the ones on the roof of the house!

We grabbed ourselves one of those shingles and a cute 2024 gingerbread ornament!

The shingle is $11.99 and tastes as good as it does every year. It is a bit stale, since they probably bake many of them ahead of time. The ginger flavor is strong, but we also got notes of honey. It’s was fairly soft, so that’s nice instead of having a hard, crunchy cookie.

The bottom is coated in chocolate which is a sweet touch. We got lots of flavors of nostalgia when eating this cookie! It feels like Christmas.

The ornament is $13.99 and is a much harder gingerbread cookie and could easily go on your tree for the holidays. It’s super cute!

While you’re looking around, be sure to check out the adorable details on the house. There are items on it commemorating the 25th anniversary, as well as cute little trees as Disney characters.

This is an iconic piece of holiday decoration at Disney World, so if you’re able, we suggest stopping by to take in the view and treats. You can jump on the Resort Monorail from Magic Kingdom or the TTC to head to the Grand Floridian.
