“I Am Hesitant to Let Out the Secret” — Disney World Fan Raves About This Overlooked Hotel

Are you planning a trip to Disney World and do not know where to stay?

Welcome to Walt Disney World

There is a lot of work that goes into planning a Disney World vacation. You need to plan travel, book a hotel, buy park tickets, make Advance Dining Reservations, and so much more. We love staying on Disney World property because it brings you closer to the magic, but there are also so many perks. There are over 25 Disney World resorts, but there is one resort that many people tend to overlook but the cat is out of the bag, and we are letting you in on this secret!

Located in the EPCOT resort area, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort is often overlooked since Disney does not own it. However, many people do not know that guests who stay at this resort get many of the same benefits as those who stay at a Disney World hotel.

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort

We love to stay at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, and we are not alone in this. Did you know that you can read and leave reviews on our site? We have reviews for all things Disney World, including rides, hotels, restaurants, and so much more! While we were scrolling through reviews, we came across this stellar review of Swan and Dolphin that we just had to share.

One reviewer said, “Fantastic Stay. We have stayed all over Disney property, and I am hesitant to let out the secret that for a fraction of the cost, you can get all the deluxe benefits! We are not traveling with young children, so the lack of Disney everywhere is a plus for us. We still feel immersed while being able to disconnect from Disney just a little. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. The location can’t be beat. The buses to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom aren’t super convenient, but they are luxury coaches and VERY comfortable, so much more so than the Disney buses. We took the bus to Magic Kingdom from the Yacht Club, which is a 5-10 minute walk.”

This reviewer pointed out that those who stay at the Swan and Dolphin get the perks of a Deluxe Resort for a fraction of the cost, which is true. Prices for rooms at the Swan and Dolphin tend to be cheaper as Marriott owns the hotel. Plus, you can use your Marriott Bonvoy Points to book a stay!

Deluxe Resorts are the highest tier of resorts at Disney World. Deluxe Resort guests can take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry, which allows you to enter the parks each morning 30 minutes prior to the park’s official opening.

Those who stay at Swan and Dolphin can also enjoy Extended Evening Hours, during which, on certain nights of the week, different parks are open two hours past close. This is a huge perk as the parks empty out, and you can ride popular attractions with a shorter wait time.

Although Swan and Dolphin has its bus transportation system, as the reviewer above said, you can easily access Disney World transportation. The FriendShip Boats make a stop at the resort, the Skyliner is within walking distance, and Disney Bus transportation can be accessed by walking over to a neighboring EPCOT resort.

The Swan and Dolphin are in an ideal location: they are super close to EPCOT, the BoardWalk, and even Fantasia Gardens Mini Golf.

  1. I have tried to keep this secret since 1996: The first time I stayed at the Dolphin. By far it is the best hotel to stay at in WDW for the money, service and friendly and helpful employees. All the perks associated with being on property is a great bonus! The central location is the best. We love watching the fire works from our balcony. I have stayed at the Swan too but the Dolphin is my favorite. I have only one complaint. Only one. The lack of a little bridge to make the walk a little shorter to EPCOT. Love using the International Entrance at night and enjoy the slow, leisurely walk with all the beautiful lights and water view as we make our way back to the hotel. I highly recommend staying at either hotel.
