Have you ever been to Disney World’s most expensive restaurant?
Nope, we’re not talking about California Grill or Le Cellier, we’re talking about the one that tops them all in terms of price — Victoria & Albert’s at the Grand Floridian Resort. This signature dining experience costs hundreds per guest and only accepts a limited number of reservations each night that it’s open. Several people on our team have been lucky enough to dine there, and during our last trip, we noticed something interesting!
It’s no secret that the dining rooms and main areas of Victoria & Albert’s are absolutely stunning. The details, the architecture, the table settings…all gorgeous!
But during our last trip to the restaurant, we were particularly interested in the details of the BATHROOM. Like the other rooms, it’s stunning, but it also has a piece of history that caught our eye.
On the wall across from the sink is a framed letter and a photograph. The letter comes straight from the writing desk of Queen Victoria herself — what an interesting piece of history!
Upon further inspection, the letter appears to be addressed to an earl from Queen Victoria, informing him of his appointment as a 2nd Lieutenant in the army. The date on the letter is September 29th, 1894. Wow!
While the content of the letter is a little random, it’s very interesting that it ended up in the restaurant’s bathroom! Victoria & Albert’s is named for the queen and her Prince Consort, Albert.
If you’d like to check out the letter or the restaurant for yourself, be advised that it’s difficult to get reservations to this spot. However, the meal is definitely top-notch and features some incredible cuisine. We have a full review of our trip to the restaurant.
And if you’d like to watch our experience, make sure to check out our YouTube video visiting Victoria & Albert’s! Quincy and Breedlove share more details about the dining offerings and the backstory of the restaurant.
