“We’re gonna need a bigger pile of bricks.”

LEGO is one of the most famous toy brands in the world. The erstwhile toy manufacturer has been producing their iconic interlocking brick construction toys since 1949, and producing sets based on well-known licensed properties since 1999. Over the last 25 years, they’ve produced sets based on everything from Star Wars to Harry Potter to Marvel to Seinfeld. Now, LEGO is producing a massive new set based on one of the best-known scenes in film history!
This brand-new LEGO Jaws Set is based on an iconic moment of the BLOCKBUSTER film!

Introduced as part of the LEGO Ideas series — a website that allows users to submit ideas and concepts for LEGO products and sets for potential commercial production, with said user receiving 1% of the royalties if the set is constructed — the set recreates the Orca ship from the film in great detail and includes mini-figures of Police Chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider), Quint (Robert Shaw), Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfus), and the shark itself (identified as Bruce, in reference to the name given to the animatronic shark used in the film by the crew during filming).
According to LEGO, the set allows builders to construct the “ultimate fan-inspired display set that recreates the thrilling scene in the movie Jaws where Quint, Chief Brody, and Hooper faced down the shark from the deck of the Orca.”

The 1,497-piece LEGO set features a display base and can be positioned to look like the film’s climax when the massive great white shark attacks the orca. Brody’s famous line, “You’re gonna need a bigger boat”, is emblazoned on a printed tile.

Based on the novel by Peter Benchley, Steven Spielberg’s film Jaws was released to massive acclaim in 1975. The film was the first massive summer blockbuster and has a counted influence on the entertainment industry until this day.

LEGO’s latest set recreates one of the best-known scenes in cinema history, the climax to Jaws, the film that birthed the very concept of the Hollywood blockbuster as we know it today!
