NEWS: Disney Announces CHANGES to 2026 Movie Schedule

Disney recently had their 2024 Shareholders meeting, which gave us great insight into what the company is thinking and planning for the next few years.

Disney made several announcements during the meeting as well as in the days following. We got to see new concept art for expansions coming to the parks and learned when Test Track is closing in EPCOT for reimagining. Now, we have some new information on the lineup of films expected through 2026! A lot has changed, so buckle up and get ready!

The Wrap has, unironically, wrapped it all up for us, so let’s break down the new films we can expect coming in part of 2025 and 2026! We’ve known about many of these movies coming to the theaters, but Disney has recently announced their official release dates. It’s looking like 2026 will be an awesome year for the movies!

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway — the spitting image of the Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA

The Amateur — April 11th, 2025 (A CIA revenge thriller previously slated for November 8th, 2024)
Tron: Ares — October 10th, 2025 (third installation in the TRON franchise)
The Mandalorian & Grogu — May 22nd, 2026
Toy Story 5 — June 6th, 2026
Moana — July 10th, 2026 (live-action)
Untitled Star Wars film — December 18th, 2026

We also know that another new Pixar film and several Disney and Marvel titles are also slated for 2026, but don’t have specific release dates or titles yet. However, an untitled Disney project originally slated for July 10th, 2026 has now been removed from the schedule.

While these movies are slated for a year or two away, 2024 is looking like an exciting year for movies as well! Moana 2 is coming out in November and Mufasa: The Lion King is scheduled for December, plus several others. We can’t wait for these new films to come out, and we look forward to hopefully hearing more announcements at this year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in August!
