A 2024 celebration is about to kick off at Disney World!
The Disney Dreamers Academy, Disney’s 4-day event that celebrates “exceptional young people”, is celebrating its 17th anniversary in style this year at Magic Kingdom! We’ll explain what this celebration entails and give you a firsthand look!
This year’s Disney Dreamers Academy runs from April 4th, 2024 through the 7th and we were invited to observe the Disney Dreamers’ pre-parade in Magic Kingdom.
The Disney Dreamers Academy remembers the very first Disney Dreamer, Walt himself, by selecting 100 young applicants between the ages of 13 to 19 who exhibit intellectual curiosity, compassion, courage, a positive outlook, generous spirit, and optimism about the future, according to Disney.
During the 4-day event, Disney Dreamers are mentored, experience career workshops, develop interviewing, networking, and professional dress skills, and receive complimentary airfare, hotel accommodations, and theme park tickets for themselves and a parent/guardian.
This year’s parade included an appearance from Dara Renee, one of the stars of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. She rode in one of the cars along with Princess Tiana!
The Dreamers Academy participants were joined by Mickey Mouse and friends on the parade floats. They followed the traditional parade route through Magic Kingdom.

Reminds me of Millennium Dreamers from 2000. When Mcdonalds partnered with Disney and did this with 2000 children from around the world. The tag line for the event was celebrating those young dreamers that “put their best foot forward and lend a helping hand”.
