When you’re visiting Disney Parks or sailing with Disney Cruise Line, you might think that you can pretty much wear anything you want when you dine in those Disney restaurants. It’s Disney — how fancy can it be, right? WRONG.

Although many Disney restaurants are pretty casual when it comes to the dress code, some do have strict rules. If you have reservations for Victoria & Albert’s, for example, you must wear semi-formal or formal clothes. Well, a fancy restaurant on Disney Cruise Line just CHANGED its dress code rules. Let’s take a look.
Palo and Palo Steakhouse, which are adults-only restaurants on Disney Cruise Line ships, have had a stricter dress code than some other restaurants onboard. Semi-formal or formal attire is recommended, but you can get away with dress-casual attire “with a polished look.” That means you can also wear dress pants, jeans (as long as they are in good condition, collared shirts, dressy tops, and lifestyle shoes. However, t-shirts, swimwear, shorts, and sports attire are not allowed.

However, that rule has changed — at least for brunch. You are now allowed to wear dress shorts, but ONLY for brunch. You will still have to wear pants or skirts for dinner.

Note that this doesn’t include ALL shorts — just dress shorts. This rules out things like running shorts, cut-offs, swim shorts, or super short shorts. If you’re unsure of what “dress shorts” means, err on the side of caution (or just wear pants).
