There's an All-NEW 'Star Wars' Hotel Event Coming to Orlando! But There's a Catch.

Disney’s Galactic Starcruiser, a.k.a the Star Wars Hotel, closed in 2023, much to Star Wars fans’ dismay.

Welcome to Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser

While the experience was unlike any other, it was massively expensive. Not just expensive for guests to visit but also for Disney to run, which is one of the main reasons why it closed. Now, however, there’s a new Star Wars Hotel event coming near Disney World!

Halcy-Con is a new event coming to the Wyndham Orlando Resort & Conference Center Celebration on October 4th and 5th, 2024. This 2-day event will be a “boutique playground of various fun and informative activities, all created and hosted BY Galactic Starcruiser superfans FOR Galactic Starcruiser superfans,” according to the official description.

Proposed activities during the event include but are not limited to, “superfan-created panels/exhibits, special photo opportunities, cosplay showcase, armor building demonstrations, droid building demonstrations, prop crafting demonstrations, live-event chalk mural creation, sabacc lessons & tournaments, Ryloth Slide flash mobs, beginner & advanced lightsaber training, Saja-inspired meditation, a fan-film showcase, a green screen area to make fan film shorts,” and so much more.

The event will have less than 500 attendees and tickets are priced at $130 a person. However, within a few hours of announcing the event, it sold out! There is currently a waitlist available for the event, so if you’d like to attend, you can sign up to be notified if a spot becomes available.

It’s important to remember, too, that this event is NOT officially affiliated with Disney, Star Wars, or the Galactic Starcruiser. It’s a fan-made event for fans of the extinct experience. Regardless, it sounds like a Star Wars fan’s dream event, so get signed up on the waitlist now!
