Disney has a soft spot for conservation and sustainable efforts.

They actively work towards animal conservation and making more ecologically friendly choices around their parks (like those paper straws we’re not fans of). Sometimes, small ideas can turn into big, sustainable practices. This is exactly what happened over in Disneyland Paris while decorating this holiday season.
We’re big fans of all the Christmas trees found around the parks during the holidays. The big, towering trees are iconic festive center points in the parks and hotels. But this year, Disneyland Paris has come up with a more sustainable way of decorating the park with their trees.

The Disneyland Paris Entertainment and Horticulture departments have put their heads together to come up with the idea of using live, natural trees to decorate their park. This sustainable change is in line with the Disneyland Paris environmental commitments, and the trees will continue to grow and grow each year!

The trees will never have to be cut down. They have been planted in large, specialty pots that are planted in the ground all over the park, and then, after the holidays, they will be dug back up (still in their pots) and transported back to the nursery. They will stay at the nursery, growing until next year when they’ll be “planted” again.

80 of these live Christmas trees have been installed all around Disneyland Paris this year and next year, they’ll be the same ones, even bigger and stronger. You can learn more about these ecological efforts in the video below!
We love hearing about Disney’s environmental efforts. This is a great way to make a difference.
