Something NEW is coming to SeaWorld Orlando in 2024. Buckle up, or should we say bundle up?

SeaWorld is preparing to debut a brand-new roller coaster attraction called Penguin Trek. When it’s finished, guests will be able to board a snowmobile and race along with an expedition team at up to 43 miles per hour! Intrigued? Us, too! Come along to learn more about this new ride!
We recently attended Orlando’s IAAPA Expo (short for International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions). During our visit, we learned about a LOT of new ride technology and previewed some upcoming attractions, including SeaWorld’s NEW Penguin Trek ride.

Rob McNicholas, Vice President of operations at SeaWorld Orlando, unveiled the theme park’s newest Penguin Trek ride vehicle at the IAAPA Expo in Orlando. The ride is set to open in Spring 2024, and we can hardly wait!

Ta-da! Here’s a look at the NEW ride vehicle for Penguin Trek.

McNicholas explained that the ride vehicle was patterned after a snow mobile, which is fitting as the coaster will navigate through an icy cavern. Look out for falling ice! This attraction will have a 42-inch height requirement.

You may be wondering how an attraction located in central Florida can possibly transport guests to the chilly climate of Antarctica. Well, we learned that as you reach the end, you’ll make the ultimate discovery: a real penguin habitat with 300 penguins! There, the temperature will be 32 degrees! Talk about a nice place to cool off from the Orlando heat.

This coaster will launch at 43 miles per hour and has over 3,000 feet of track! It features two launches, twists, turns, and even a banked maneuver before returning to the station.
