Special guest appearances, HUGE technological advancements, and exclusive first looks await the lucky guests attending Destination D23 this year. If you’re unfamiliar, Destination D23 is a HUGE event where Disney fans hear from Imagineers, Disney executives, and other creatives on all the new and upcoming Disney projects.

Destination D23 will be taking place at Walt Disney World Resort from September 8th-10th, 2023, and tickets sold out FAST. But, if you happened to grab a ticket to this year’s event, we’ve got some NEW details on what you can expect.
This year, the event takes place at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and will feature panels, performances, shopping, and plenty of exciting news. So far, we know that there will be a variety of presentations throughout the weekend, including:
- A Destination D23 fan-favorite presentation about “Weird Disney” moments with the Walt Disney Archives.
- A “fun and entertaining presentation” from Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro about what makes a Disney experience so magical and memorable for guests and fans around the world.
- A presentation about Walt and Roy Disney’s Journey to California, and the earliest days of The Walt Disney Company.
- Disney archivists, historians, Imagineers, Cast Members, Disney Legends, and luminaries in two days of programming worthy of the first century of Disney — and beyond!
- Journeying through Disney’s history of optimism and innovation with the people that are part of a rich history of storytellers and inventors, “beginning with Walt Disney’s relentless optimism and innovative spirit, and leading us to some of the bright minds who are shaping Disney’s boundless future.”
- Another presentation by the Walt Disney Archives where visitors can learn “Disney you didn’t know” — uncovering some of the most astonishing Disney discoveries, connections, and little-known facts.

But NOW, Disney shared new details about Destination D23. According to Disney, a few big names (at least among Disney fans) will attend the event, including Disney Legends Bill Farmer and Don Hahn, Bret Iwan, Kaitlyn Robrock, and Ashley Eckstein. Additionally, guests will hear from Michael James Scott, who plays Genie in Aladdin on Broadway.

According to an updated schedule, the Disney+ Hallowstream Costume Bash will happen on Sunday at 7PM. Mark your calendars — the event will likely be streamed online.

As you can see, more information is expected to be announced soon, so stay tuned for additional updates! In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
