VIDEO: NEW Details and Look Inside the Moana Attraction in EPCOT

We’re just a day away from 2023, and it’s set to be an EXCITING year for Disney.

EPCOT Transformation

Not only do we have the start of the 100th anniversary celebration, we also have new attractions to look forward to! Along with the opening of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Disneyland, we also have TRON opening in Disney World at Magic Kingdom, and Journey of Water Inspired by Moana opening in EPCOT.

While we don’t have an opening date for the Moana attraction just yet, we’ve been keeping a close eye on the construction of the new walkthrough attraction. One of the biggest updates we’ve seen has been the addition of the GIANT Te Fiti within the walking path.

And now we’ve got another look inside the construction on the attraction! Good Morning America revealed a new look at the current progress, and it has us more excited than ever. The reporters at Good Morning America spoke with Disney Imagineer Reid Ekman, the Lead Concept Designer for the attraction. Ekman spoke on few key details of the attraction!

He spoke to the “interactive water elements” that have been teased from the beginning, sharing that “one way you greet your friend is by waving, so I’d imagine that one way to greet water is by doing a similar thing.”

Ekman also revealed that there will be dozens of characters hidden throughout that will be recognizable to Moana fans. He also shared that music will be a key component to the walkthrough attraction.
