New Updates on Disney Employee Relocation to Central Florida Coming Soon

Let’s touch on a Disney project you may have forgotten about.

Back in 2021, Disney bought nearly 60 acres of land in Lake Nona for a new Orlando Campus. This process was paused in June of this year following political tensions in Florida, and though Bob Iger recently commented on the relocation of Disney employees from California, it was questionable if this project would continue. Now, however, there’s been a small update.

According to the Orlando Business Journal, at the “Future of Lake Nona” forum on December 8th, not much was said about Disney’s plan other than that more will be announced next year. Vice President of Strategic Communications Jessi Blakely did say, “In the short-term future, things are moving along with Disney very well. I do expect that there will be news in the coming year around that project.”

Disney hopes to move these 2,000 California jobs to Orlando by 2026. As of right now, there is no construction to be seen on the 60-acre lot Disney has bought.
