DETAILS Revealed About Disney's 100th Anniversary Exhibit Coming to a City Near You

2023 is a BIG year for The Walt Disney Company. After being founded on October 16th, 1923, 2023 marks 100 years of the company!

Disney CEO Bob Chapek has called this anniversary “historic and unprecedented,” and the celebration will span the globe with new experiences exclusive merchandise, and more. But if you think this celebration will be solely in Disney Parks, you’d be wrong!

At the D23 Expo, Disney announced more details about Disney100: The Exhibition, an exhibit created especially for the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company. The 15,000-square-foot exhibit will debut on February 18th, 2023 at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, PA, followed by nine other galleries, and it will feature immersive ways to experience your favorite Disney stories.

The next two locations for Disney100 will be Chicago, IL and Kansas City, MO, after which the exhibit will head across the pond to Munich, Germany on April 18th, 2023. Disney100 was created and curated by the Walt Disney Archives and Semmel Exhibitions, and you can watch a preview of the exhibit below!

Becky Cline, Director of the Walt Disney Archives, said “We can’t wait for guests to experience their favorite Disney stories, characters, and attractions in new and immersive ways as we celebrate all the wonderful worlds of Disney.” Disney100 will include 250 original artworks, artifacts, costumes, props, and more — some of which are rarely seen. Visitors will be able to travel through 100 years of The Walt Disney Company, from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs all the way to the new Strange World movie.

We’ll be watching closely for the other six gallery locations to be announced, but as we gear up for the 100th anniversary celebration in 2023, there’s a LOT to be excited about in Disney Parks! Disney revealed some huge news bombs at the D23 Expo, including the opening timeline of TRON Lightcycle Run in Magic Kingdom.
