Spider-Man Honored As One of the Most Influential Characters of All Time

2021 was a HUGE year for Spider-Man as a character!

First of all, we got the grand opening of WEB-SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure at Disney California Adventure‘s Avengers Campus, which also brought with it the premiere of the incredibly cool Spider-Man stuntronic. Then, later in the year, Spider-Man: No Way Home released in theaters and drew in record-breaking crowds due to its star-studded cast. But now, it looks like 2022 will be a very exciting year for Spider-Man as well!

PR Newswire reports that on July 20th, Spider-Man will be inducted into the Comic-Con Museum Character Hall of Fame during the Night at the Comic-Con Museum event.

This event will serve as a celebration of the Comic-Con Museum in San Diego’s Balboa Park and will include a special induction ceremony honoring Spider-Man. During this event, guests will also get to experience Marvel’s Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing — The Exhibition, which opens on July 1st. Spider-Man will be the fourth inductee into the Museum Character Hall of Fame.

“Ever since his debut in 1962, Spider-Man has stood the test of time as one of the most iconic, inspiring, and influential characters in pop culture, capturing the imagination of fans all around the world,” shares C.B. Cebulski, Editor-in-Chief of Marvel Comics. This special event will not only induct the character into the hall of fame, but will also celebrate Spider-Man’s 60th Anniversary.

This is a big honor for both Spider-Man as a character and Marvel as a whole. With new series on Disney+ and new movie releases slated for the summer, the next few months are going to be an exciting time for Marvel Studios. This is just one more accolade to add to that list!
