Disney+ is the place to go for all things Disney, Star Wars, and Marvel!

With a record breaking opening weekend for Obi-Wan Kenobi, a streaming release date for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and an update on season 4 of The Mandalorian, there’s been quite a bit of Disney+ news shared recently and more reasons for subscribers to get excited. Speaking of things coming to Disney+, a series based off of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians book series was previously announced, and we already shared who will play Percy Jackson. But we now have a huge update on other actors we’ll see in the show (including some big names you may be very familiar with)!
Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, and Timm Sharpe have all been cast in the Percy Jackson series, according to Variety!
They join Walker Scobell (who will play Percy Jackson), as well as Aryan Simhadri, and Leah Sava Jeffries in the Disney+ original series.

News of this casting comes just as the show starts production in Vancouver.
Mantzoukas will be playing Dionysus, who runs Camp Half-Blood (a camp for demigods). Mullally will play Alecto, a.k.a. Mrs. Dodds, Percy’s teacher who turns out to be quite monstrous (she’s one of the three Furies who serves Hades!).
Kull will be playing Sally Jackson, Percy’s mother. Glynn Turman will play Chiron, a.k.a. Mr. Brunner, the centaur who guides Percy along his journey. And Sharp will play Gabe Ugliano, Percy’s step-father.

The show will tell the story of the 12-year-old Percy Jackson, a “modern demigod” who is coming to terms with his newfound powers when Zeus accuses him of stealing the master lightning bolt. Percy Jackson must then get the help of his friends and embark on a quest to find that lightning bolt and restore order in Olympus.

We can’t wait to see more from this exciting new Disney+ series. What else is coming to Disney+ soon, you ask? Great question! There’s loads of new content on the way including Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and a new season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. It’s going to be a huge summer for the platform!

Plus we’ve got Disney+ Day coming later this year. Disney+ Day brought us a number of big announcements last year, so we’re excited to see what this year will bring.
