Actor and Comedian Howard Hesseman Passed Away

Actor Howard Hesseman, known for his work in the WKRP in Cincinnati, One Day at a Time, and Head of the Class passed away on Saturday, January 29th, 2022 at age 81.

The actor died after complications from previous colon surgery, according to CBS News.

Howard Hesseman was nominated for two Primetime Emmys for his role in WKRP in Cincinnati. He also played Dr. Louis Faraday in Disney’s 1986 movie, Flight of the Navigator.

Aside from his work as an actor and comedian, he also enjoyed “swimming and gardening in his spare time — ‘although not simultaneously,'” according to his representative when speaking to Variety.

In a statement to CBS News, his manager said “He was a groundbreaking talent and life long friend and long time client, whose kindness and generosity was equaled by his influence and admiration to generations of actors and improvisational comedy throughout the world.”
