Disney World has played host to a number of sporting events in the past!
Being home to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, the property hosts competitions, tournaments, and even training camps for multiple different sports every year. Disney World is once again playing host, this time for the 2022 Special Olympics — and we’ve got some exciting news about the opening ceremony!
According Disney, the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games will not only take place in Disney World, there will also be some more Disney Magic making an appearance!
It was recently announced that Disney Live Entertainment will be producing the 2022 Special Olympics Opening Ceremony!
We don’t know much about what the opening ceremony will look like, but Disney is promising “legendary entertainment”. In addition to hosting and producing the opening ceremony this year, Disney is also the presenting sponsor of the Volunteer Program for the 2022 games.
The games will be held June 5th to 12th, so be sure to take that into account if you’re planning a summer trip! And as always, check back here for more Disney news!
