Disney Dreamers Academy Introducing NEW Opportunities in 2022

2022 marks the 15th year of the Disney Dreamers Academy, an annual program hosted by Disney World!

If you’re not familiar, the Disney Dreamers Academy program supports Black students and teenagers from underrepresented communities in America, with a focus on creating opportunities and fostering future careers. This year, the program is back again, but it’s going to look a little different than you might remember!

This year, the 4-day Disney Dreams Academy will take place from March 3rd to the 6th for 2022 with 100 students who are chosen from a competitive applicant pool to receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Disney World for the event for them and a parent or guardian.

During this event, the students are given the opportunity to learn leadership skills, communication techniques, and networking strategies, as well as participate in career workshops with a focus on their specific aspirations. This program can open up a variety of future career paths, even within The Walt Disney Company.

So what will be different in 2022? This year, the Disney Dreamers Academy will partner with ESPN’s The Undefeated and Grammy-nominated artist Cordae to award 11 college scholarships to students who are planning to attend Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

The Disney Dreamers Academy has worked with over 1,300 teens since the debut of the program in 2008, with some program graduates having gone to work in a multitude of careers and even on television, including Disney-owned TV series like black-ish and grown-ish.

This year’s Disney Dreamers Academy students have already been selected, and we can’t wait to see how the 15th year of the program pans out. Of course, we’ll continue to keep an eye out for more of the latest Disney news, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!
