While things are starting to look a lot more “normal” in Disney World, there are still quite a few perks that haven’t returned yet to the parks.

Disney has yet to bring back FastPass+, and we’re still waiting for an announcement on when Early Theme Park Entry will begin for Disney World Resort hotel guests. But, there will soon be a new perk for select guests to take advantage of!
Disney will be introducing Extended Evening Theme Park Hours at all four theme parks beginning in early October. This perk will give select resort guests extra time in the parks on select nights in select theme parks, just in time for the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary celebrations.

Much like Extra Magic Hours (which is no longer available), Extended Evening Theme Park Hours will only be available for guests staying at a Disney World Resort hotel. However, the Extended Evening Theme Park Hours will only be extended to Disney Deluxe or Deluxe Villa guests at this time.

More details on the select dates and parks will be shared soon, but applicable guests will be able to explore the parks with lesser crowds during that time. Of course, we’ll continue to keep an eye out for more information about the new perk, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!

This is exactly the opposite of why I grew to love Disney so much. Back in the mid 90’s and early 2000’s, anybody who purchased admission to WDW could enter the parks and with rare exceptions, everyone was treated equally. Didn’t matter if you were rich of middle class, you waited your turn in line, you waited your turn for a table, you even waited your turn at the bathrooms at times. I truly believe this was a huge part of Walt’s dream to build a place that parents could take their children and enjoy the day while escaping from the cruelties of regular life. Slowly but surely, apparently in the quest for more money, WDW started adding “perks” for special groups, then came the “ticketed events” that required extra payments to continue enjoying the day at the park, then the extra magic hours for resort guests only, and now we witness the extreme slap in the face of if you are elite enough, we will pull back the velvet rope and invite you into the park to enjoy exclusively with the other elites. Due to the insulting disregard for his dream, Walt Disney has “rolled over in his grave” so many times he has surely ground his bones to dust. It’s truly amazing to me that we fans continue to return to WDW while they charge more for tickets that provide less hours in the park, partially to allow time for elite endeavors such as this. When will we learn!!
Disney is always catering to their “deluxe resort guests “ like this even though without their AP’s visiting through out the year keeping DW afloat in the off season they would be toast. AP’s are lucky to still get free parking- that’s probably not long for this world either. Where’s the appreciation and perks for people who spend THOUSANDS on passes for their family so DW can have business in the off season too??? There weren’t any I can tell you from experience. First time AP holders who WON’T be renewing is what we were.
This seems wrong to me. But money talks.
I cant believe some of these comments. If someone pays more for anything anywhere there are usually more perks that come with that. Sorry you have never stayed at a really nice hotel but the really expensive rooms have tons of perks that go way beyond this level. Save your money and upgrade your hotel. extra hours for 4-6 people per room is actually probably worthe the difference not to mention the other perks you will get. You don’t get bells and whistles at motel 8.
Would you not already consider the bigger rooms, sit down restaurants in the hotel and honestly just nicer accommodations perks for the money spent? Deluxe rooms already have many more perks than their cheaper brethren. With the removal of the almost all of the existing perks of staying on property, it no longer seems worth it to spend the money at a value or moderate resort. Thirty minutes in the morning shared with all other Disney resort and select non-Disney resort guests is a poor substitute for the perks lost.
This is not about someone staying at a Motel 8. This is about treating everyone who stays on Disney property fairly. These were all perks that attracted people to Disney in the first place. Now only Deluxe hotel guests are worthy of extra magic hours, how about sharing different nights for different hotel grades. One night for value and moderate guest, other night for Deluxe. Otherwise this is pure discrimination.
So, now you pay an extra $200-250 a night for the same thing you could buy for $100-150? Sounds like WDW is having trouble filling the Deluxe Resorts. With 4 people in a room this might be a better deal then buying extended hour passes
This news is horribly disappointing. This really should be rolled out to all resort guests. Just because someone can afford to stay at a deluxe resort doesn’t mean they should get special treatment; it makes it almost feels like a punishment for not being able to stay at one of these resorts. The only thing that I can make sense of is that resort attendance is low for these resorts and perhaps that’s a way to draw people in. However, it doesn’t make it right. I’m sure they could offer something different to these resort guests. To make it equitable, they need to offer something to the rest of the guests. Very sad.
Bad move Disney! Very bad move! Way to create a class system, wow!
There was already a class system pre-Covid with those who stayed at any Disney resort and those (like me) who stayed offsite. Those who stayed in value and moderate resorts still get the morning 30 minutes that I won’t get. I just have to plan my days more efficiently (and moderate and value resort guests will now, too).
If they are only allowing extended hours for people who have the deluxe stay, then the rest of us should only be charged what all th Floridians are being charged for tickets.
