Disney World has a lot (and we mean a lot) of hotel options.

It can be pretty difficult to decide which Disney World Resort hotel is best for you. Do you want something super-themed? Maybe you hope to relax in luxury? Or could you be hoping to spend the least? If that last one sounds like you, you might be wondering if Disney World’s cheapest hotel is worth it!
Should you stay at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort? Let’s take a look!
About All-Star Movies
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is one of three All-Star resorts. These spots fall into the Value resort category and are the least expensive Disney World hotels. All-Star Movies just reopened in March from over a year of closure.

This resort has almost 2,000 rooms and two pools — the main Fantasia Pool and the smaller Duck Pond Pool. It is themed after Disney movies including Fantasia and Fantasia 2000, Toy Story, 101 Dalmatians, The Mighty Ducks, and The Love Bug.

The theming is represented by larger-than-life Disney characters and icons from the films that make for great photo ops. The hallways are outdoors so your room opens directly into the outside.

Dining options at the resort include the World Premiere Food Court which serves a variety of menu options like pizza, salmon, burgers, desserts, and more; and Silver Screen Spirits Pool Bar.

The only transportation option from All-Star Movies is the buses. Prior to the park closures, these buses were known to have long waits due to the number of rooms at All-Star Movies and the other two All-Star Resorts.
Pricing
Again, All-Star Movies is Disney’s cheapest resort option, although you still might find the prices to be higher than some off-property options. Prices vary but we’ve seen them span from approximately $120 to about $240 for a standard room and from about $140 to about $265 for preferred rooms.

Pros
All-Star Movies certainly has some pros. For one, it is inexpensive. For those who are budget-minded, this can be a big perk!

Speaking of perks, though it might be more expensive than some off-property options, you still get access to Disney perks such as complimentary transportation.

Plus, this resort has the Disney touch! It’s hard to beat those larger-than-life Disney characters for fun theming!
Cons
On the other hand, there are some negatives as well. For one, All-Star Movies has super small rooms! They’re newly renovated to include Murphy beds, but they are still only 260 square feet. So, it might be a squeeze!

As we mentioned, you can also end up with long waits for transportation. When we stayed for the reopening, we spotted that waits are low thanks to the use of charter buses, but it’s possible they won’t stay that way.

And you’ve got pretty limited dining options! The only place to eat a meal at this resort is the food court. Other resorts certainly have a wide variety of dining available.
Is It Worth It?
So, is it worth it? It depends on your party! For instance, if you know that a small room would be overwhelming, it might not be worth it to swing for that low price.

In general, this resort is probably not comfy for a party with more than two adults in one room. Consider getting two adjoining rooms or a family suite at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort or Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.

Cheap prices are a big bonus but if you don’t super care about the Disney perks, you might be able to stay for cheaper elsewhere.

Always informative!!!! Thanks for the great advice Quincy!!!!! You totally rock!!!!!!!
We have stayed at all levels of on-site hotels. When travelling as a couple with no kids we find this property fits our needs and the price can’t be beat. However, when travelling with our grandchildren, we choose either Caribbean Beach Resort or Beach Club villas. These properties offer more exciting pools, on-site table service dining and better transportation options to the parks.
