NEWS: Disney World Responds to Changes in Florida’s COVID-19 Guidelines

Ever since Disney World reopened last summer, there have been quite a few health and safety changes around the resort.

Even Minnie Mouse is wearing a face mask!

We’ve seen the addition of temperature checks and social distancing, plus mask requirements. The Florida government has also put certain laws into effect since the pandemic, and after an executive order went out today suspending all COVID-19 emergency orders, Disney has issued a response.

While we were in the parks today, we received a special pop-up message in the My Disney Experience app, specifically regarding the new Florida executive order.

The message shares that the parks will be maintaining current health and safety measures at this time (including mask requirements), but that they’ll be evaluating the latest guidance to make decisions moving forward. The pop-up also states that Disney encourages people to get vaccinated as more vaccines become available.

We also noticed that the Disney World website has been updated to reflect these same sentiments.

  1. I understand the need to keep us safe. Our family has already completed our vaccines in full. I feel that making us wear masks while sitting down for a meal are a bit overboard. If you have the seating socially-distanced, the masks shouldn’t be necessary.
