There’s been some interesting news related to Universal Orlando Resort.
We recently learned that a man from Florida has been sentenced to federal prison for using stolen credit cards to buy tickets and more at Universal Orlando for massive amounts of money.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that Fredrick Lewis of Fort Lauderdale has been sentenced to three years in federal prison for buying more than $60,000 in resort reservations and park tickets at Universal Orlando with stolen credit cards.
Between March 2018 and June 2020, Lewis spent approximately $62,300 on vacation packages at the resort using the credit cards of 36 people. These packages were booked via Universal’s call center through the use of over a dozen different phone numbers.
The booked packages would either be used by Lewis or exchanged for gift cards from Universal. In addition to his prison sentence, Lewis must pay approximately $30,780 in restitution to Universal for the damages caused.
