NEWS: Disney Releases Titles Coming to International Star Brand in Europe!

The Walt Disney Company revealed that a new international Star brand streaming service during the 2020 Disney Investor Day.

The platform will not be available in the U.S. and will instead be integrated into Disney+ in Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. (Latin America will receive a separate platform devoted to Star and sports streaming.) Disney+ in Europe has announced the first titles that will be released on Star in February.

The Star content library is intended for more ‘mature’ audiences including a new Kardashian series (also available on Hulu) and more. Deadline has reported that the European lineup will release two Star Originals including the private detective thriller, Big Sky from David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies). The second title is Love, Victor, which is inspired by the film Love, Simon.

Additional titles will include 24, Lost, Desperate HousewivesHow I Met Your Mother, Prison Break, The X-Files, Atlanta, Black-ish, and a few of the Die Hard movies. The lineup only includes the UK platform and may be different in other countries.

Disney has stated that the international Star library will double the amount of content on Disney+. The platform will stream more shows from Disney Television Studios, FX, 20th Century Studios, and 20th Television.
