NEWS: Marvel Considering New Talent Deals in Case Upcoming Films Go to Disney+

With movie theaters shut down or at reduced capacity in 2020, Disney has taken to releasing films originally intended for theatrical release (like Mulan and Soul) on Disney+ instead.

While Disney fans have still been able to enjoy new films on the streaming service, Marvel Studios is just beginning to explore the impact that may have on their films.

According to The Wrap, Marvel is considering making adjustments to talent deals in the case that their films must be released directly on Disney+ in 2021.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Marvel Cinematic Universe was experiencing huge successes releasing their films in theaters and even became the highest-grossing film franchise. Now, it appears that all talent contracts are under revision, including their already completed movies for 2021.

Marvel already has four films slated to release in 2021 including, Black Widow on May 7th, 2021, Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on July 9th, 2021, Eternals on November 5th, 2021, and Untitled Tom Holland Spider-Man 3 on December 17th, 2021.

At this time, it is unclear whether these talent deal changes will extend beyond the Marvel franchise. We will continue to keep you updated as more information is released!
