Universal Orlando Has Increased Its Face Mask Prices (Plus Released Four New Throwback Designs in the Parks!)

We’re back in Universal Orlando today, and we’re ready for an ADVENTURE!

While we’ve already started setting out for some great snacks in the parks (with spooky reviews coming at you soon!), we also can’t help but keep an eye out for new merchandise in Universal.

Buuut, it looks like there are a few changes that have come to the stores! Previously, themed face masks were available in the parks and Universal’s CityWalk for $6 each or 3 for $15. However, they’ve seen a price increase to $8 each or 3 for $20 instead. While we aren’t sure what constitutes the raise in mask prices, we did spot a few newbies lining the shelves too!

Universal Orlando has been throwing it back recently with retro merchandise all around the parks. And, you can visit some of the oldest (but also the best) attractions in the park wearing masks from the E.T. Adventure

…or sporting some of your favorite Universal Monsters (which the Bride of Frankenstein would be VERY happy to see at her Halloween Horror Nights house).

But, it isn’t a throwback without a few extinct attractions that have come and gone over the years in Universal Orlando! Earthquake: The Big One was the original behind-the-scenes tour in the parks before it was updated to Disaster! instead. Now the ride lives on as Fast & Furious: Supercharged, but you can still make some movie magic wearing the Earthquake Face Mask!

If you want to get a little more Kongfrontation-al, you might remember that there was a King Kong attraction before Skull Island: Reign of Kong made its way to Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Kongfrontation took guests on a high-flying New York tram tour, where they came face to face with a giant King Kong audio-animatronic. While the ride was replaced by Revenge of the Mummy, Kong still lives on with the Kongfrontation Face Mask in the parks!

Although we love all the newer attractions and sections of the parks in Universal Orlando, there’s just something special about the original rides and experiences that we’ve seen throughout the years! As we stay on the lookout for more retro merchandise, you can follow along with us during our Universal adventures!
