California Governor Gavin Newsom has yet to release reopening guidelines that will allow theme parks to resume operations. This is despite the continued push from Disney and state officials who believe it’s time to reopen theme park gates in California. Now, the Orange County Health Care Agency has agreed that the state can reopen the parks soon.

According to the Orange County Register, the claim comes from county health officer and agency director Clayton Chau. Chau claims that Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm should be allowed to reopen once Orange County reaches the “moderate” tier of Newsom’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. As of right now, California is one step above “moderate” and located in the “substantial” tier.

Disney officials have been working closely with the health agency and stated that “Once we have a clearer understanding of when theme parks can reopen from the State of California, we will be able to work with the state and Orange County Health Care Agency towards a reopening date.”
