While Universal Orlando continues its phased reopening, some resorts have made the decision to alter their 2020 reopening plans. Last week, we shared the news that two of Universal’s hotels would be re-closing this month.

We now know that those two hotels’ closures will be longer than anticipated, along with two other resorts that will remain closed for the time being.
We spoked with Universal team members, who confirmed that four properties that are part of the Universal Orlando Resort family of hotels will remain closed through the remainder of 2020.

These resorts include Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Loews Sapphire Falls Resort, Universal’s Aventura Hotel, and Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Dockside Inn and Suites.

Currently, all four hotels are only accepting reservations for January 2021 and later. Guests currently booked at these hotels during their closure are being contacted to modify.

We will keep checking in on the status of Universal Orlando Resort’s hotels and provide any additional information as we learn more!

We just stayed at Sapphire Falls, which we have been staying at the past five years when having to evacuate from the Space Coast. These people are like family to us and have treated us with incredible kindness over the years. Their COVID-19 protocols were amazing, we can’t believe how safe they are being. From checking your temperature every time you walk in any entrance and everyone I mean everyone needs to wear masks at all times in public areas. If you don’t have them they provide them for you, to sanitizing and disinfecting your rooms after you check out without putting anyone in the room for 48 hours. I hope these people get to keep their jobs because they are amazing!
