But, there’s another celebration that we’re ready to spend with our fellow Hogwarts classmates (virtually) and our wizard family at home!

The Wizarding World website will be hosting its first “Back to Hogwarts” livestream on September 1st to honor the Hogwarts Express leaving Platform Nine and Three-Quarters at 11AM. While fans usually would gather at Kings Cross Station in the past, the experience will move to a virtual environment instead this year.

Forbidden Journey

Cast members from the Cursed Child production will join actors from the Harry Potter films like Jason Isaacs, Bonnie Wright, and James and Oliver Phelps (only the Weasley twins themselves)! There were also be Harry Potter activities, the immersive Journeys to Hogwarts Soundscape, a CineConcert with orchestras from around the world, Wand Combat presentation from wand choreographer Paul Harris, and more.

Diagon Alley

Guests will also get a sneak peek of the new House of MinaLima, Back to Hogwarts 2020 Celebration artwork, celebrity readings of passages from the books, and different crafts and trivia to do at home. The events will take place from 10:30AM BST to 11:30AM BST (or starting at 5:30AM EST)with a countdown of for the Hogwarts Express. As a part of the celebration, fans can submit a picture of themselves to be a part of the Back to Hogwarts – Class of 2020 mosaic, whose display at Kings Cross Station will grow throughout the day.

Butterbeer

However, the fun doesn’t stop there! There will be a whole weekend full of wizard fun from August 28th through September 1st! There will be a Back to Hogwarts Hub available online for guests to join Fan Club and get sorted into their house before joining the festivities. The livestream will support Lumos, which is J.K. Rowling’s nonprofit “to illuminate a path for children living in harmful orphanages and other institutions, to a brighter future” with a donation button for everyone participating.
