Date Revealed for When You Can Ride the Hogwarts Express for REAL This Summer

A NEW Harry Potter experience is coming to Southern California this summer!

Scheduled to begin performances in July, Harry Potter: A Hogwarts Express Adventure is described as an hour-long live production that takes place aboard a slow-moving train. The show is set to include several theatrical elements, including scripted scenes, puppetry, illusions, live singing, dancing, and a great deal of audience interaction.

The train housing the show will depart from the Southern California Railway Museum 3-5 times per show day, with the show currently scheduled to run from July 24th to September 27th. Auditions for the live roles in the presentation were held at the end of March, and the show will feature 3 rotating casts, with 2 casts working per show day.

The Hogwarts Express Adventure will be one of several official Harry Potter experiences in the U.S., including the official Harry Potter Shop in New York City, and — of course — the Wizarding World installations at Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood.

Located in Perris, California, the Southern California Railway Museum — which opened back in 1956 — “aspires to be a beacon of knowledge and inspiration about the history of rail transportation.” The museum uses immersive experiences and engaging exhibits to bring California’s Railway history to life.
