Right now service men and women are on the front lines of a global health crisis unlike any we have seen. Disney knows this and they’ve dedicated stores of medical supplies to hospitals as well as excess food from the parks to food banks.
The governor of California, Gavin Newsom, has put together a task force of more than 70 individuals to help businesses begin to recover after these hard days that we’re living in. The Walt Disney Company’s executive chairman, Bob Iger, has stepped up and joined the list of individuals who will be coordinating the efforts.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the main goal of the task force is to help people return to a state of economic stability after the tumultuous week’s we’ve gone through. The panel will be co-chaired by Tom Steyer and Newsom’s chief of staff Ann O’Leary.
In addition to Iger, the list of names on the task force include Apple CEO Tim Cook, Janet Yellen, formerly chaired on the Federal Reserve, and former state governors Pete Wilson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Gray Davis and Jerry Brown. The group will reportedly meet twice a month through the end of 2020.
