Now another Disney event has been shut down due to Coronavirus concerns, as the European Disney+ launch event has been canceled.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the event, scheduled ahead of the European rollout of the service on March 24th, was set to feature demonstrations of the service and interviews with talent to journalists from across Europe. However, a growing reluctance toward international travel has led Disney to cancel the event. Reportedly, the cancellation was done out of an abundance of caution, as international travel is one of the main vectors through which the virus could spread.

Travel to and from Italy has been restricted due to fears of spreading the virus.

The scheduled press release will instead be distributed via webcast, with U.K. based journalists being invited to a “lounge” for product demonstration. Disney has pledged to find a way to allow access to talent for journalists invited to the event. The Disney+ launch is set to go ahead as planned.
