Only Ten Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Events Left in 2019 — Should You Go?

We’re coming up on the final couple of weeks of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, and if you’re on the fence about whether or not you’ll attend this year, we’ve got some thoughts.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2019

We’re talking about AllEars reader reviews (read them here) and our own Party experiences in 2019 to help you decide if it’s a must-do or a must-skip. As you might have surmised, guest experiences vary. Even folks who attended the same Party have very different perspectives on that night. And let’s be real: that’s always going to be the case.

But here’s where we stand with AllEars reader reviews for 2019: only three readers have reviewed the Party this year. One rated the Party a 9/10, and the others rated it a 3/10. That averages out to a 5/10 overall — but we’d love to hear from more of you who attended a Party this year, so rate, review, and rave/rage).

It’s interesting to note that the two negative reviews from 2019 both cite overcrowding as being the main issue — even on the Party’s first, very rainy night. Reviews from 2018 rate the Party over 7/10 — but crowds (and regular day guests staying past the start of the Party) were cited as negatives last year, too.

AllEars’ team experiences this year have actually been relatively positive — especially when we compare the Christmas Party events to this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party events. Those Halloween Parties, as we reported here, were a big disappointment for most attendees. Crowds were noted repeatedly as a major issue, and with the Halloween Party Pass that allowed specially-ticketed guests to attend any and every Party they wanted (save for the Party on Halloween), crowds seemed to be out of control.

Not so with the Christmas Parties we attended this year. And while we’re not quite at the busiest point of the Party (that’ll be right before the holiday itself), we haven’t noticed over-the-top waits or had to struggle with crowds to watch the shows and parade.

But our experience isn’t everyone’s, and that’s why we’re asking for your takes. If you’ve attended a Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party this year, leave a review for your fellow readers so we can all have a well-rounded of how things are shaking out and drop us a comment below!

  1. A friend sent me a picture of the crowd in front of the castle before fireworks and they were shoulder to shoulder! No thank you. She said it was a sold out party on the day she went. I believe it was December 6th. I wish they would go back to the fresh baked cookies that they had before. There was never a line and people didn’t go “trick or treating” for them like they do now. The garbage they are giving out now is pathetic. Always more money for Disney while jipping the guests. I hate what Disney has become.

  2. If they either had more character meet and greets like all the toy story characters in Christmas gear – or they provided return times for characters the parties would be a lot better. The other thing is you come in at 6 and they aren’t ready with most things not even starting until 7 – which is annoying. Also more photopass as the lines for magic effects are SUPER LONG! Character meet and greet lines are WAY TOO LONG! Those are the biggest disappointments for me. Parade was great we watched twice this year. We don’t do rides unless it’s a special overlay like laugh floor which was cute. People mover is a good way to see all the Tomorrowland decor quickly. The free treats are mostly awful and it would be better if they just did Mickey bars etc like they do at after hours.
