Finally, Animal Kingdom will get the love it deserves during the holidays with festive new décor and entertainment in EACH LAND!

Discovery Island

The winter celebration will begin as you cross the bridge into Discovery Island. Here, you will find decor that has been hand-crafted by the community of artists who call the island their home. Discovery Island will be filled with sparkling white decor, colorful animal-inspired luminaries, and wireframe bird-shaped lanterns that will glow at night. During the day, you will see life-size artisan-sculpted puppets of winter animals. These reindeer, foxes, polar bears, and penguins will interact with guests and be accompanied by musicians.

Tree of Life

According to the Disney Parks Blog, the Tree of Life will awaken with a series of wintry tales, complemented by holiday-inspired musical score. Between these moments, the Tree of Life will continue to shimmer and sparkle.

Asia

When you find yourself in Asia be sure to take in the magnificence and beauty of the glowing flowers and lanterns. These decorations have been put up by the residents of Anandapur in celebration of Diwali, which is the holiday festival of lights in India. These will light up the square between Anandapur Theatre and the waterfront stage.

Pandora — The World of Avatar

Once your soar over to Pandora you will see a display of Pongu Pongukitschy holiday décor,” which was created by the ex-pats who live and work on the moon of Pandora. They created these to bring a little Christmastime cheer to their new home. The décor combines vintage pieces from Earth with items indigenous to Pandora.

You will be able to experience all of this and more at Disney’s Animal Kingdom starting November 8. For more holiday magic, make sure you also check our Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Flurry of Fun at Disney’s Hollywood Studios pages.

I feel like Animal Kingdom has never really felt festive during the holidays, so I am really excited to see it transform this year!
