Contributing photographer Jason of disneygeek.com sends us these photos from his trip to the parks on Friday, January 18, 2013.
On January 19th the Blue Sky Cellar exhibit entitled Walt Disney Imagineering presents Fantasy Faire opened. There was a soft opening on the 18th and this update contains pictures from that.
The videos as you walk in appear to be the same as before. I did not watch the entire loop of all three but on first glance they seemed to be the Cars Land and Buena Vista Street planning and construction shots.
Walt still greets you as you head into the Cellar.
The first board, Step 1 – Research.
Step 2: Blue Sky
Step 3: Concept
Step 4: Feasibility
At the end of the hall in the display case is this Owl Newel Post
Now we turn to the middle of the room. A large model is on the right, signage and other concept art overhead and the process continues at the desks.
Step 5: Implementation
Above the first desk.
Now the second desk.
Above the two desks signage.
In the center of the room a model.
Next up the screening room.
Walt is on the left wall.
Here is a video of the film in the screening room.
On the right side of the screening room is this Facade Sample Wall.
The last board before leaving features the Mickey and the Magical Map stage show that will be opening in the Fantasyland Theater this summer.
This wraps up our tour of the exhibit hope you enjoyed.
