Disney Pic of the Week: Park Entertainment

Photographic Innoventions by Scott Thomas

Our Disney Pic of the Week will feature Park Entertainment.

Walt Disney World is full of technological marvels and rides which immerse us into a place of fantasy. However, it is the people, the Cast Members, who make the parks come alive. In each park there are musical and entertainment cast members and troops which gather guests around them and may even include guests in their performances. Some have planned scripts, some are improvisational and others a little of both.

Take the World Showcase Players, whom I ran across in the United Kingdom pavilion on my last trip, doing the Legend of King Arthur with guests playing the parts of King Arthur, Sir Galahad and Guinevere. While there is a script of a sort. The Players are always on the lookout for a good laugh or two or three at the expense of their guest players and the audience. It is hard to tell who is having the better time, us or them!
