Disney Pic of the Week – Out of Place

Light Meter by Lisa K. Berton

Hello and welcome to a brand new year of Disney Pic of the Week blogs! :crowd goes wild with applause: We your co-hosts, Barrie Brewer, Scott Thomas, and I look forward to bringing you colorful, sparkling, and brighter images with a fresh new scent of Disney magic. Are you ready?! C’mon!

I suggested this week’s theme, things that are out of place or that you don’t see every day. It provides for lots of freedom in selecting a photo and can be interpreted differently by each of us. Case in point, my selection is the loveable Mr. Lou Mongello, author of The Walt Disney World Trivia Book series and WDW Radio podcaster.

You are probably asking yourself, Why is Lisa posting a photo of Lou and calling him out of place? That’s an excellent question and there’s a short story to go along with the photo.

Picture it, Disneyland, March 2008, a young photographer and former California resident is visitng her favorite place. Just as she takes one step forward to enter the queue for Peter Pan’s Flight she comes face-to-face with Lou Mongello. They both look at each other and ask, What are you doing here?! Normally, they see each other at MouseFest or Magic Meets, neither of which are in CA or during March. It seemed so odd to find Lou at Disneyland and he’s wearing a Walt Disney World T-shirt to boot.

That my friends is how Lou Mongello gets to be my entry this first week of 2010.

Be on the lookout for more on this topic by Scott and Barrie on Thursday and Saturday.
