Review of 'Ohana Best Friends Character Breakfast

The food is fantastic. Delicious sweet breads, a plate of fruit, and a trough of breakfast classics! The character selection is impressive, but we had all finished eating and still waited about twenty minutes after before we saw our first character. I didn't think our toddler was going to make it! Lilo and Stitch were great! Mickey was a bit rushed but Pluto was excellent too. Perhaps the timing was just off that day. We will try it again sometime.

Pros:

Food, service

Cons:

Wait for Characters

Review of Disney's QUICK SERVICE Dining Plan

Our family loves this plan as we use snacks for breakfast and that makes it an all-inclusive vacation. There's no considering if you need to choose a cheaper item in the menu for this meal, and if you play your cards right, multiple people can eat off of one credit since at some places the portions are plentiful! A great choice!

Flexibility

Review of Biergarten - Lunch/Dinner

Used to be so amazing and always on our "must do" list, but this is sadly no longer the case. We dined the middle of Dec 2015. The wait past our ADR was 45 mins and, although CMs tried to stop people as best they could, somehow the waiting area has become a "secret smoking" area, which made it even more uncomfortable. Once we were inside, the food was as amazing as ever! However, we found ourselves going to the buffet at just the wrong time and it took almost 30 mins to get through our 2nd plate (hot food). No big deal, we thought, as it took everyone else that long. Well, our server was taking the check of the other half of our table when we returned and told us flatly she thought we'd left. (They had small kids and only went to the buffet once.) She never refilled our drinks, even after being asked and she never asked if we wanted more bier. To top it off, they re-set the other half of our table with new people before we finished our main course! It was so awkward and uncomfortable we left before dessert. I was hoping it was a fluke, but I spoke to a relative who was there in Nov, she also had rude service. I'll really miss the food though, we've gone every trip since it opened but that's the last.

Pros:

Delicious food

Cons:

Service, Wait time past ADR

Review of Toy Story Pizza Planet CLOSED February 1, 2016 for Long Rehab

Pizza planet is always a favorite of mine and one I return to time and again. The cappuccino cupcake is amazing and one of my favorite desserts at Disney. The pizza is pretty good considering how many they crank out in a day! This place is very loud though, which is why I often choose an outdoor table if the weather is right.

Pros:

cupcakes, indoor/outdoor seating,

Cons:

loud!

Review of Pop Century Resort (Value Resort)

I was recommended this resort by Passholders who love it. We hated it! I couldn't request a king bed. This absolutely baffled me as it's the main thing you reserve at any other property. I was able to request a "lake view" and we were placed in the 50s, with two double beds. The lake room was quieter until everyone was ready for bed. We could hear everything! I knew what show the neighbors were watching and that the other side were arguing about what park to visit! The beds were iffy, but the pillows were so bad we both had neckaches the whole trip. The toilet became an ongoing joke because it flushes so hard, it moves the air nearby. Of course this means you can hear every toilet nearby and the showers too. Even my white noise app couldn't drown it out. The positives: Mousekeeping was excellent (much better than the moderate resorts!) and being near Art of Animation meant we always had another choice for meals (which were surprisingly tasty) and transportation. Will NOT stay again, would rather travel less often, but actually get some sleep!

Pros:

Close to Art, Mousekeeping

Cons:

LOUD inside the rooms, no bed choice

Review of Boma Flavors of Africa Breakfast - Jambo House

We usually get to Boma for dinner every trip, but tried breakfast in mid- Dec 2015. The food was varied from standard fare to Boma specialties, with plenty of options in between. The service was by far the best we had for any meal during our trip! I only deducted one point from the rating as there were no dessert or dessert like items at all and my favorite "jungle juice" tasted watered down. Every thing we tried, we ended up getting more, the food was so well prepared. In fact my guest, a first timer, suggested we should consider staying at AKL just for the breakfast! We'll be back next trip without hesitation.

Pros:

Food, great service

Review of Artist Point

Based on the reviews, my wife and I looked forward to our visit to Artist Point. The atmosphere was less than the "magical" experience you come to expect at Disney. While the server was very pleasant, we both found the food to be very disappointing. We felt that the taste of the food suffered due to the restaurants desire for an "over the top" presentation of the food. Having said all of this, this was the only disappointment of the entire trip.

Pros:

Friendly server

Cons:

Atmosphere, Overall Value

Review of Art of Animation Resort (Value Resort)

Stayed here Dec 13 to 18 in the Nemo Suites. We were right behind animation hall by the pool. Rooms are just ok - nothing to get all excited about - my son-in law felt he was staying in a concrete bunker. We found it was a bit tight space wise for 4 adults and 3 kids 13, 6 and 2. Check in was good - however.....we were heading to Hollywood Studios and were told that we would receive a text message when our room was ready. My daughter finally called the hotel at 9 pm to see what our room number was. I think the only big draw at this resort is the pool. When we were there the pool hours were 9 am to 10 pm so it was difficult to get a swim in before we went to the parks or after we got back from the parks. We have stayed at many other Disney Resorts and would never choose this one again.....it certainly is a "value resort".

Pros:

Pool

Cons:

Room and Decor

My Husband and I ate here on Nov. 13, 2017. It was part of the eat to the beat program, we pay one price and get App Main and Dessert. Then you get seating for the show. Great value. Husband had Moroccan Lamb Sausage, NY Strip Steak, Assorted Baklavas. I had Brie, Strip Steak and Saffron and Lemon Custard. We both enjoyed the meal very much. The waiter was great.

Food and Service

Ate here week of Dec 13 to 18. We changed one of our other reservations so that we could eat here for the Holiday Dinner with Minnie. Food was fine and must say a huge thank you to Chef Angel for his help with our 2 1/2 year old granddaughters food allergy. The gluten free mac and cheese was a big hit. This meal was ok and glad we did it once - we were to eat here again but decided to eat elsewhere.
