Review of Tusker House Character Breakfast

This was my first visit to the Tusker House ever. I would say it was a great one. The food was excellent. The server kept our jungle juices and waters filled at all times, which is a big thing for me. Goofy went right by our table and accidentally skipped over us. To make up for that as we were leaving they brought us out by the open air market area and had Goofy meet us there for great photos. I think that worked in our favor as the table area was squished. Over all this was a wonderful experience. Now that they have a character dinner at the Tusker House I have dinner reservations coming up in the coming months and can't wait to go back!!

Pros:

Great Food, Characters

Cons:

Tables are squished.

Review of Fairfield Inn

The facility was very clean. The lobby is nice and they have cold infused water at the entrance daily. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

It was short walk across the street from the entrance gates to both Disneyland and California Adventure.

Our room was ready when we checked in and we had an adjoining room with my parents. Both rooms were nice and clean.

Typically Fairfield Inns offer complimentary breakfast but this one does not. They do have a snack bar area where you can buy sausage biscuits or egg and bacon burritos, cereal, fruit, etc. all at very reasonable prices. They also have Pizza Hut pizzas. The gift shop has lots of snacks and Disney gifts.

The lobby has plenty of seating once you check out and need to wait for any transportation.

I would stay here again.

Pros:

Proximity to Disney entrance

Cons:

No free breakfast like typical Fairfield Inn

Review of Plaza Inn Lunch/Dinner

We all ordered the fried chicken. We had eaten a big breakfast so didn't eat lunch. It was now about 7:30 p.m. and we were all starving. We had plenty of food on this platter.

We had 3 pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans and a biscuit. You can get packages of honey or jelly for your biscuit. The batter on the chicken was really good and it was nice and hot. The mashed potatoes had skins in them and the gravy was delicious. The green beans were fresh and were tasty also. The white breast chicken was dry but I dipped it in my gravy. Yum!

You can get water in a cup and not have to pay for it. You do have to purchase bottled water but if you get water out of the drink fountain, it's free.

Pros:

Lots of food

Cons:

Breast was dry

After skipping dinner earlier, my friend grabbed one of these as we were leaving the park right before midnight. It was huge. She was so full, she wasn't even interested in breakfast the next morning. You could get the corn dog with the choice of apple slices or Lays potato chips.

Pros:

Huge

The burgers were fresh and tasty. We ate early around 11:15 and were able to order easily. The crowds picked up around 11:30.

I ordered cups of water instead of bottles of water and those are free. It's a good way to save money.

Pros:

Tasty

Review of Trattoria al forno - Dinner

We were seated on a Friday night at about the time we reserved. Our table was a two-seat setup in the middle of a row of four-seat tables in the middle of the room, undoubtedly arranged that way so they could be pushed together in varying combinations. Not the best table, but not the worst. Our server promptly brought a flask of room-temperature water and bread, but no bread plates. We ordered pre-dinner drinks and our entrees at the same time. Unfortunately, the pre-dinner drinks arrived 10 minutes after the entrees when we asked the dinner-plate deliverer where the drinks were. A supervisor chanced by the table later to ask how we enjoyed the meal and we pointed out the discrepancy. It turned out the server had failed to turn in the drinks order. The server returned later and informed us that "due to her incompetence," the drinks would be comped. No apology. She must have been scolded. Our entrees, linguini a la vongole, were quite good, with lots of small clams, al dente pasta and a light olive oil-and-white-wine-based sauce. The drinks, spritzes, were correct. We hope they'll work out the bugs as this restaurant offers great promise and an authentic menu. As it stands, Via Napoli is still the best choice among the Italian restaurants in the Epcot area. (We have heard that too-quick service can be a problem in WDW table service restaurants, and have been advised to order the courses separately if we're not in a hurry. We will take more care to do that from now on.)

Pros:

Food quality

Cons:

service

My kids (14 and 11) and I loved this place. They both had the adult spaghetti and meatballs and they ate it all. It was full bowl. I had the Italian Chef salad and it was really good and full of olives and Italian meats and cheese. It was filling. We all got cups of iced water for free so our bill was right around $30. Cheap for dinner and we had plenty of food.

Pros:

Fresh and Tasty

Review of Be Our Guest -Counter Service Lunch

We got off on the wrong foot when we ordered two pork entrees, but the cashier entered two roast beef sandwiches. We neglected to check our receipt and only learned about the discrepancy when the sandwiches arrived at our table. The server summoned a manager who changed the order, then took our magic band away to re-enter the order because the pork was $2 more. The replacement food arrived very soon and the whole kerfuffle was sorted out over about 10 minutes. The pork loin with vegetables was quite tasty and of unusual quality for a "counter service" lunch. We were seated in the small, dark dining room which might have been a nice atmosphere except for a constant stream of people who walked into the room to shoot flash photos over our table. That and the noise level, running kids, and armies of servers with their carts made lunch anything but peaceful, but then this is normal for WDW and to be expected.

Pros:

VeryNice lunch

Cons:

Noise, confusion

Review of Main Street Bakery Serving Starbucks

The Main Street Bakery used to be one of our favorite places, but no more since Starbucks took over. The coffee is also not that good. The lack of cinnamon rolls and seating, especially when it is raining, which it does a lot at WDW has really turned us off. Also the wait time is horrendous. Look at how it has dropped in the ratings. It used to be rated almost a 10 and now it is not even an 8.

Pros:

Cons:

Long line and wait, no cinnamon rolls, no seating

Maybe it is just me, but the cinnamon rolls are not nearly as good as they were at the Main Street Bakery. Also it is hard to get one when you are leaving the park in the evening. Lack of seating is also a problem, especially when it is raining.

Cons:

No seating, cinnamon rolls
