Review of Boardwalk Villas (Disney Vacation Club)

My family recently stayed at the Boardwalk Villas. We requested a room close to the elevator or lobby and got neither. As we stay here each year that was disappointing. The walk to our room felt like a mile. Mousekeeping was also not up to par. One day they did not do the room at all and the other days came late in the day when we come back for our afternoon breaks. Overall though this is our favorite resort and mostly have great time there. Its very beautiful especially at night.

We purchased a 12 pack of Angry Orchard and a 12 pack of Miller Lite, and a case of water for our room. The items were priced reasonably in comparison with our local grocery store. Even with the $14 delivery fee we still came out a lot cheaper than if were to buy these items separately at the resort/parks. I really wish that the resort would have put the items in a refrigerator, but I am sure their space is limited and they use it for items that HAVE to be refrigerated. We did have to call down to bell service for our items and they delivered before we got back from the park that night. So I would encourage to call as soon as you get your room assignment. I would definitely use Garden Grocer again!
Pros:
Convenient, Cheaper than buying items through resortCons:

Had dinner there June 29 for the first time after going to WDW for so many years. Totally worth it. Fabulous atmosphere and great service. Food was delicious and presentation very nice. The fireworks from the observation deck was very good. A real treat. Going back in July!!!

We returned to Paddlefish this May after having eaten there in the past prior to its remodel. The food was generally good, though not at the top of what could be had from a truly great seafood restaurant, and the service was adequate. Those were not our complaint. The new restaurant has done away with the myriad nautically themed items that used to populate the former restaurant and have not been replaced. There is virtually nothing special about the atmosphere/ambience of this restaurant now that is any different from any other modern décor restaurant. The walls and fixtures are not only devoid of a nautical theme, they are virtually barren. We were not near a window to look out at water, and consequently had very little of interest to look at. We wondered why we had chosen this given its lack of internal theming. For the use of the a amount of Disney Dining points required, there are a number of other restaurants both at Disney Springs as well as the rest of Disney World as a whole that have far more interesting themes and/or interiors to attract ones interest before, during, and after the meal. With so many other options, we will not be returning unless/until changes are made to make our dining experience at least as interesting as many of the other dining options at WDW.
Pros:
The food was adequate. The service was adequate. Easy to get a reservation.Cons:
All of the original theming has been eliminated with nothing to replace it.Reviewed by allec999 Review Date: 07/07/2017

Stayed here for a couple nights in late June, in a studio with a Savannah view. At first, I was not at all pleased when I looked out the balcony to a view of another building maybe 100 feet away. Not exactly the view of animals I was hoping for. I was proven wrong the next morning, by a giraffe, a zebra, and a few other animals lounging around directly below our room. Great resort overall.

Had pre-ordered lunch here in late June. Food was very good - Croque Monsieur and Quinoa Salad - though the presentation of the sandwiches left a lot to be desired. But the atmosphere of the room is wonderful. Only real complaint is the seating process is still a bit awkward, hunting for tables and waiting for tables to be cleared.

Been here enough to know what to expect. Food is always decent, and it's good to get a break from the park. I may have to try the new options in Pandora, and if Tiffins had a reasonable lunch menu, would try that as well, but RFC is always a good option. There was a bit of a back-up in getting back into the park - someone was having a tough time with their magic band - but I suppose that can happen.

Perhaps the best buffet I've ever experienced. Food was wonderful, the soups alone could have made a nice meal. Choices were diverse. I had read a ton about the zebra domes for dessert, but wasn't really impressed with them. Thankfully, there were plenty of other choices that were delicious. Highly recommend.

Had dinner here with my daughter recently; we did the Fantasmic! package, which, as it turned out, didn't work out so well as the weather forced the show to be canceled that night. So it ended up being some pretty expensive chicken parm and spaghetti. Food was good, as was the service, and it's certainly not the restaurant's fault that thunderstorms showed up and ruined everything, but still, will associate my disappointment with Mama Melrose's, nonetheless.

Grabbed a couple giant (and I do mean giant) pretzels and some drinks with my daughter here for lunch. Pretzels were tasty; expensive, but huge and tasty. Almost no seating available, but it is what it is.
