Review of Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory Lunch/Dinner

We've been staying at the FQ for years and I can't say that the food court has improved. The choices are few and the refrigerators in front of the registers is a waste of space. They need a grab and go for bakery items instead of being in containers at the pancake section. I waited in line for a bagel and found out that I could've just taken one. There is no one there to direct the traffic. Most times we walked down to Riverside - much more selection in their food court. I miss the old parade float decorations...not happy with the warehouse painted floors look.

Pros:

More Seating

Cons:

Extremely limited selection

Review of Fishing Excursions

I had booked an afternoon fishing trip from Ft. Wilderness as a surprise anniversary present for my husband. Our skipper was Brian and he was fantastic! He put us on the fish at 2 different spots on the Lake. He taught me how to cast and how to hold a bass. There were 3 of us fishing - my husband, myself and our son. We had so much fun - I couldn't believe that in all these years of Disney trips we never fished. My son caught the biggest fish - Brian said it was about a 4 pounder. It was a great afternoon with a great skipper. We'll absolutely go fishing again.

Pros:

FUN with absolutely NO CROWDS

Review of Garden Grocer

The service we received from Garden Grocer was fantastic. When I was at the airport (Orlando) I received a text that the groceries had been delivered to Bell Services at our hotel. We checked in and picked up the groceries on the way to the room - the fruit was fresh and the dairy items were cold. The case of bottled water was shrink wrapped. I had placed our order in advance and got an unexpected discount! Garden Grocer never disappoints!

Review of FastPass+ (Retired)

The whole idea of booking Fastpasses in advance is great if you are able to plan a lot of your trip in advance, and it is great to have them waiting for when you arrive your first day. But the wristbands/ booking Fastpasss online reduces the amount of rides you can go on. The entire three days we were there, we went about ten rides. There were days where we would go on only three or four rides the whole day. The one exception was Test Track because of the single rider line. One time we had several Fastpasses for the evening at the Hollywood Studios(For Star Tours and Toy Story Mania). We wanted to go on Soarin in the morning. I asked at the front desk if we could get Fastpasses in multiple parks. The person said yes. This turned out to be not true. While at Epcot, I asked several cast members if I could make try to get a new Fastpass for Soarin while keeping the Disney Hollywood Studios Fastpasses. The cast members implied I could. This was not true. I ended up losing the Disney Hollywood Studios Fastpasses and all the Soarin Fastpasses were already booked. We waited on the standby line for over an hour for Soarin and did not get to go on Star Tours or Toy Story Mania. How could the cast members be so wrong? It is possible I didn't ask the question correctly but I doubt it. In all the years I have been to Walt Disney World is the first time the cast members actually provided me with misinformation.
One thing is for sure, I agree the main idea is to have guests stay longer.

Pros:

Can book Fastpass in advance, and have them waiting for you when you arrive. Was able to walk directly onto Soarin with no wait the first day

Cons:

Reduces the amount of rides you can go on, cast member did not explain it correctly

Review of Satu'li Canteen

I love trying unusual foods, and the idea of putting together a bowl was really cool. The chile-spiced crispy fried tofu could have been a little crispier and a little spicier for me, but with the black bean vinaigrette over the quinoa and vegetables (lettuces and kales, mostly) it was very flavorful. The grilled beef with a chimichurri sauce over rice was also very good. These actually were more like salads than hot dinner entrees, though. The Pandoran Sunrise was very disappointing, and even the Dreamwalker Sangria was a disappointment, because it was mostly ice. The blueberry mousse was a pleasant surprise, as it tastes very good. The chocolate cake was disappointing, as it is dry and bitter. The lines did not take long at all for the peak of dinnertime in the middle of July, and the indoor seating is fine. We did not use the mobile ordering option.

Pros:

Tasty create-your-own bowls

Cons:

Lousy drinks

Review of Coronado Springs Resort (Moderate Resort)

My family of 4, DH, DD (17), DD (17), myself and my 20 month old niece stayed here from July 2-6. We had a refurbished room #8228 in the Ranchos section on the second floor. The new rooms are very functional, and you can tell that a lot of thought was put into their design. We had plenty of room and barely noticed the construction going on around the resort. The grounds are beautiful, even with the resort being torn up a bit...

That being said, we had an issue with the room when we first walked in...It was obvious that someone had been given the room before us, but for whatever reason, decided to move somewhere else...I say that because there were chocolate crumbs on one of the beds, on the towels in the bathroom, on the floor, and in the refrigerator. I called Mousekeeping right away, and they immediately came to clean the room, and were extremely apologetic.
Once we were settled into the newly cleaned room, I went to concierge just to let them know what was going on, because the room should have been inspected prior to us being given the room in the first place....They too were extremely apologetic, and for our inconvenience, granted each of our party 3 additional fastpasses per person, per each day we had at the parks. This was very generous of concierge and greatly appreciated. For this reason alone, I would gladly stay at this resort again...
The Dig Site pool was extremely crowded the entire time we were at the resort. So, we spent our free time at one of the quiet pools, and it was wonderful. My only complain is that there are no food or drink offerings at the quiet pools, so there's a long walk to the main pool or main building to get food or drink refills...
We picked up a few snacks at the resort, but never had a meal there.
Again, I would definitely stay here again, but I do like the smaller resorts better.

Concierge

Review of Teppan Edo - Japan

This was hands down one of the worst meals of our 4 night stay on the deluxe dining plan. I hate to say this, because Teppan Edo has always been a positive experience for us.
My family of 5 had reservations here at 6:30 on July 3rd. We arrived a bit early, and were told we would not be seated until our actual reservation time. We were handed a beeper, and told we could walk around the entire pavilion, and when our beeper went off, to come back to be seated...This was fine, because there's a lot to see and do within the area.
Once seated, the service was fine, but the food was awful...The quality of the meal has gone down hill from prior visits. For example, the salad consisted of a small portion of lettuce with a little bit of dressing on it. There are no longer mushrooms in the grilled vegetable portion, and a lot less veggies at that. The beef rice was bland, and the quality of the main course selections was smaller and not as tasty.
There are so many other restaurants at Epcot to choose from, that I probably won't be returning to this one...
