We had later reservation to eat here, and ended up changing to an earlier time. Even then, we arrived much earlier than our reservation time, and was seated in less than 10 minutes. The server was fantastic, very nice and attentive, but not intruding in our meal. We were on the deluxe dining plan, so we had appetizers, entree and dessert. My husband enjoyed the grilled squid and I had the roasted beet salad. The squid was amazing, and I am usually not a huge fan of squid! My beet salad was small, but perfect for me since I had been doing a lot of eating. I ordered the halibut, and thought it was great. It came out extremely hot, which I find rare in ordering fish when eating out. I can't remember what my husband ordered, but I know he loved it, since Tiffins is his new favorite! Out deserts were excellent, and our server brought out a little plate of treats from the kitchen, since we were celebrating our 18th anniversary. One treat was a toasted hibiscus marshmello. Fantastic! Pricing here is a bit steep, but if you are on the dining plan or just enjoy a nice, slow paced meal, this is an excellent choice.

Pros:

Excellent food and service

We ate here on the last day of our trip. We arrived a little earlier than our reservation, and was seated immediately. We were offered mimosas on the way to our table, and requested coffee, which came as a pressed pot. Our server was attentive and friendly. We ordered an entrees, smoked salmon eggs benedict and lobster eggs benedict. We then went to the buffet, which offered different sushi, a couple salads, meats, cheeses and fresh fruit. There is a bloody mary bar, that is extra, which we didn't try, but I'm guessing it was pretty good, based on what I saw from other guests!
We also received a plate of breads, which was okay, but not worth the stomach space to eat, since there was so much to enjoy. Our entrees were excellent as was everything from the buffet. The server brought out a plate of pastries, macaroons, cookies, things like that. Not to my taste, but it looked pretty! We were on the deluxe dining, so price was not a huge issue, but I can see where $80 a person would be tough on a family vacation. It was not as slow paced and relaxing like we enjoyed throughout our vacation, but did not feel rushed either. I would likely go again, with or without the dining plan.

Pros:

great food

Cons:

tad pricey/wish I had asked for a better view

We ate here the first night of our vacation. We had been wanting to go for a while, so we were really looking forward to it. We arrived very early for our reservation, trying to avoid a downpour. Even though they told us they were running 20 minutes behind we only wait to be seated 15 minutes or so. It was very crowded in the dining room, and we felt as if we were dining with the other guests at the tables next us. Not exactly the ambiance we were hoping for. My husband enjoyed his steak, although I ordered a different cut, and found my tough. I liked the seasoning and the side dishes. I really liked the maple creme brulee! I'm glad we went, and did enjoy the wine, friendly service, good food, and dessert, but I'm not sure we would find it worth going back to when there are other options we enjoyed much more.

Pros:

good wine, great service,good food

Cons:

too many people

We ate here the night of my 40th birthday. We checked in a little early to request a waterside table to enjoy Illuminations while we ate. The cast members were amazing and seated us one table over from the rail, so we did have a nice view of the show. We had the deluxe dining plan, and ate way too much! I ordered the hummus for my appetizer, and honestly could have eaten that all night. I completely ruined my appetite for dinner, since I stuffed myself silly! I ordered the lamb sliders for my entree, and had to take the meat off the bread just to be able to eat some of it! It was fantastic.
I ordered the custard for dessert, which came with a song and a candle, just in time to enjoy Illuminations. It was a great evening and was perfect in every way. My husband also loved his food (although I can't remember what he ordered, I was too involved with my hummus I guess...) but it is one of the few places we plan to return to (we always try to eat somewhere new to us).

Pros:

food was great

Cons:

Review of Kona Cafe Breakfast

We ate here the morning of my 40th birthday. We had been to Kona for dinner on a previous trip, but I always wanted to do breakfast. The food was okay, honestly I had higher expectations for my Tonga Toast after hearing so much about it! It just seemed like a ton of bread with a little banana. I also wish they served real bacon, not the limp cold microwave stuff. My husband ordered the Samoan, and enjoyed it, but nothing we are dying to go back for. Our service was the least impressive of our trip, our server was often missing completely and had to ask another cast member for our check. On a morning when we are going to a park, it was a bit frustrating to wait so long. Both parties on either side of us were also fairly annoyed as well. It wasn't bad, but I can't say it was worth the time either.

Pros:

coffee

Cons:

service

We ate here on the last night of our trip, on the 45th birthday of the Magic Kingdom. This was our longest wait for a table, but we were not in a hurry. The cast members seating people were very nice and had a great time sharing corny jokes and chatting with them. Our food was great, although, the kitchen was running slow. We were given a fast past to any attraction (except for Frozen), which we used on Test Track the next day. This is now my favorite table service in the Magic Kingdom!

Pros:

food and ambiance

Cons:

little bit of a wait

Review of Keys to the Kingdom - Magic Kingdom

This was on our Disney Bucket List, and since we left my 13 yr old daughter home, it was time to cross it off. We went on the 45th birthday of Magic Kingdom (I had no idea when I made the reservation), which worked out well since the park was ridiculously crowded. I liked the ear piece we were given to use, so you could hear the guides, although they got staticy if you were not close enough. Most of the information they gave, I knew, being a big Disney fan, but the way it was told was entertaining. We also were able to ride the Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion, heading to the front of the line. Lunch was at the Lunching Pad, and was waiting for us when we arrived. After lunch we went into the utilidors, which I found fascinating. What was really a treat, was since it was the park's birthday, there was quite a party going on in the utilidors, complete with a DJ and cupcakes for cast members. I have to say, it was pretty funny to see "Rapunzel" , "Merida", and "Tiana" in their "bloomers" dancing with other cast members! My only complaint is the lack of seating during the tour. We stopped to look at pictures and hear about some history, and ended up standing for about 45min-1hour. This was the end of a 5 hour tour, so I was a bit tuckered. I think Disney could remove the stuff they had stored along the wall and add 2 benches. Since we had to constantly move out of the way for other things, that would actually help with that. If everyone was seated out of the way, no worries about people getting run over by a golf cart. Our Cast Member guides were entertaining and friendly and really knew their stuff. They truly enjoyed their job. I'm really pleased we took the tour and will probably take it again if my daughter was interested once she is old enough!

Pros:

cast member guides/information/experience

Cons:

could use some benches

Review of Disney's DELUXE Dining Plan

My husband and I did an adult only trip for my 40th, and decided to splurge on the deluxe dining plan. I made most of our reservations for Signature restaurants, and a couple of regular table service. We ended up with 4 extra dining credits, which we honestly could not use. I felt like we were eating all the time! We exchanged those credits for snack credits at our resort, and came home with 10lbs of candy...(we didn't even use our snack credits since we were so full!)
I really enjoyed all our food, but if you are going to do deluxe, I would only go to Signature restaurants or 2 credit buffets. We will most likely not do the deluxe again, instead go with the regular dining plan (we are big fans of the dining plan), and budget for 1-2 appetizers at certain restaurants. I feel like it was something we crossed off our Disney Bucket List, so it might be considered a "you gotta do it once" type of thing!

Pros:

eating at more signature restaurants

Cons:

possibility of not using all credits due to being stuffed

I was disappointed that they had gotten rid of the corned beef sandwich, so I went with my old stand-by: steak. I was very pleasantly surprised by this. It was very flavorful and tender - one of the best steaks I've had. I'm not a big sauce person, and usually either ask to skip it, or get it on the side. This time I forgot, and was again surprised that it was just the right amount and didn't overpower the steak. The green beans that came as a side were perfectly done and very crisp. My dad had the corned beef and cabbage (I guess the replacement for the sandwich), and liked everything except the cabbage. We are used to having a boiled wedge of cabbage, but this was shredded like coleslaw. He said it was ok, just weird. My mom had the fish and chips, which is always done very nicely.

Pros:

The staff here is always very friendly and accommodating

Cons:

When they changed to the all-day menu, the got rid of the corned beef sandwich, which was a favorite

We were very pleasantly surprised by the food here. We had been thinking of trying it for a few trips now, and finally pulled the trigger this year. I had the 3 tacos, which were very tasty and just enough to fill me up without feeling over-stuffed. My mom (82) and the chicken enchiladas and my dad (85) had the carne asada, and both said they enjoyed their entrees too. We had a wheelchair for my mom, and she wasn't comfortable with the few steps down into the restaurant, so she was able to stay in the chair. We wheeled her down a very narrow ramp along the far side of the restaurant, and had the first table along the wall by the ride. It was a tight fit to maneuver her in and out of the space, but we were able to manage it. We now have one more restaurant to add to our Epcot rotation.

Pros:

The food and the ambience

Cons:

Tables are too close together
