For my Oct 30 visit, I was so pleased to have all my room requests filled-early arrival, upper floor and building 9-newly refurbished. The room was delightful! In May I stayed in building 1 so I had a recent experience with the old decor. The new room is smartly designed utilizing the space very well. It felt huge to me. I loved the Mickeys over the bed! I didn't pull down the murphy bed to see the Plutos over the bed but I'll bet they are cute too. Really a comfortable, clean room.

Pros:

Nice new room!

Stayed at Pop at the end of October-nice selection of carry away items. The turkey and cheese sandwich was quite good as were the chocolate croissants. Something for everyone!

Review of Nomad Lounge

First visit was November 1 and I really enjoyed it. The lounge is beautifully decorated. Many customers sat inside, many outside. The bar menu had a number of tempting items and I chose the vegetarian pad thai (it had a kick) and a margarita. Perfect lunch and my new favorite stop at Animal Kingdom. Food items very reasonably priced.

Pros:

Loved it!

Review of Cinderella's Royal Table Dinner

The only reason to dine here is to meet the princesses.
11/14 We showed up 15min early and were turned away. No big deal I had read they do this. We returned at our time and were ushered in to the "lobby" for a picture with Cinderella. After a 30min wait in the lobby we were brought upstairs to be seated. The food and service were OK but not on par with price paid.

I would only recommend dining here if your priority was to met the princesses and were willing to pay $$$ to do so.

Pros:

interaction with Disney Princess

Cons:

Price & food

Review of Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory Breakfast

Breakfast at POFQ's food court is certainly better than the rest of the day. There is a reasonable selection of food-the usual pancakes, waffles etc, although no Bounty platter. The omlette station was good. However the only time I tried it, the potato casserole side dish was really oversalted and quite unpleasant-I avoided it after that although later in the week I noticed they had started adding the normal breakfast potatoes found everywhere else as a side so maybe I wasn't the only person who thought they were unpleasant!

Pros:

clean, reasonable selection of food

Review of Port Orleans French Quarter (Moderate Resort)

Before I start, let me say POFQ is far and away our favourite resort. This is our 3rd stay and we wouldn't stay anywhere else now BUT...
Our room absolutley stank of sweaty feet-and not ours! It was noticeable from the moment we opened the door on arrival and was still noticeable 2 weeks later when we left. I understand the planned refurb is doing away with carpets and this must be the reason why!
The beds both sagged-one had a definite slant to the left and one to the right! It rteally felt like the springs had gone.
Bus service was erratic. Why on earth POFQ has to share AK buses at all times of the day with POR is anyone's guess. One day we left our room at 5pm for a fastpass at AK which expired at 6.10. No bus arrived until 5.30 and it then took nearly 20 minutes to go round POR, so we did not even arrive at AK until 6.05. Needless to say we missed our Fastpass (didn't help that the CMs had roped off the pathway to EE for ROL standby!) Even at park closing the AK bus was picking up for both resorts, so you had a packed bus, only half of whom were getting off at FQ, trying to climb over people standing on the bus-very poor. (AK was the only park that ever seemd to share a bus but it was ALL the time!)
We were offered cash if we turned down Mousekeeping but I like having someone else make my bed for me so we refused-plus it keeps jobs open for them. Mousekeeping did a good job and common areas of the resort-food court, pool, etc was alway clean.
I feel guilty moaning about POFQ but the rooms are looking tired currently

Pros:

Small

Cons:

Food court, buses

Did not enjoy the options at POFQ
Very little choice if you don't eat meat-the Build your Own salad has gone to be replaced with a "You eat what we give you" salad. There was a "plant-based" burger but it had no picture to show you what yiou were getting
It appears the taste of New Orleans is SALT and lots of it. Several of the dishes we had came with fries or chips so salty they made your mouth sore!
The Create your own pasta bar had no list up anywhere to tell you what the choices were-we went over to Riverside and they had a list up with the pasta, protein and sauces available.
The most interesting flavours of pizza did not come in individual sizes-so its "both eat pizza or waste half".
Too many of the dishes were from the South-don't get me wrong, theres nothing wrong with that but a lot of the people coming to POFQ are coming for the resort rather than to eat Southern food and there were very few "safe" options on the menu

Pros:

Riverside is only a few minutes away...

Cons:

Very little choice for vegetarians

Review of Akershus Royal Banquet Hall - Lunch/Dinner

I'll be honest; the only reason we booked this reservation was our youngest daughter had yet to get the full princess dining experience and CRT was impossible to book. We've been here before and loved it, so we figured, why not? We were seated in a nice section, no problems there, and Belle was absolutely enchanting. The "Taste of Norway" bar was especially tasty and I'm glad we had it; because our entrees proved to be less satisfying. The princesses were a bit rushed, and Ariel was just not feeling it that night, but we still had plenty of time to get the pictures we wanted. Now to the service. It was not good. I don't know if it was a language barrier or what have you, but our server was just rude the entire time. Most of the time we got our food and drinks from other servers. She treated us like a burden more than customers; and considering we were stuck paying her tip due to the size of our party, I suppose she didn't feel any need to put forth any effort. At the end of the entire meal, we got TWO desserts...in a party of NINE. Which meant each of us got a teaspoon of each selection before the entire dessert was gone. In the end, I can still say I'd recommend this experience to anyone who wants the princesses and can't get into CRT, but it will be our last time visiting this restaurant. We got our pictures and our memories, and the rest just isn't worth it.

Pros:

Princess interaction - the "Taste of Norway" bar

Cons:

Service was less than stellar; didn't get what we should have

Review of Chefs de France - Lunch/Dinner

I thoroughly enjoyed Chefs de France. It was a pretty good experience from start to finish. The server was so friendly, even though we had a bit of a language issue. It might have been our Southern accents which threw things off a bit, but we seemed to get around it by simply pointing at the menu and ordering in that fashion. The food was excellent, with one tiny exception. My French onion soup was a bit on the salty side. It was still yummy, but the salt level was higher than I'm accustomed to. The salmon was delicious, the desserts were amazing. Our reservations were at 7:20, and by the time we walked out the door Illuminations was about to start, so 7 or so is an ideal time to enjoy dinner and walk straight into a spectacular fireworks show. All in all a great night. I highly recommend this place!

Pros:

Great food, beautiful atmosphere

Cons:

language barrier presented a couple of problems

Review of Crystal Palace Lunch/Dinner

Let me just preface this review by saying I did NOT want to eat here. This reservation came about because it was my son's birthday, and both he and his child-at-heart dad wanted to meet Winnie the Pooh. I'm not a huge fan of buffet dinners; I usually find them bland and sketchy at best. So I made the reservation 180 days out with serious reservations of my own, and the entire time I'm asking them, "Sure you don't want to change your mind?" Well, they didn't, and sure enough, we wound up at Crystal Palace. And I'm so glad we did! We were matched with the most wonderful server on the planet (wish I could remember her name, but she was thoroughly British and thoroughly cool!) There was food for even the pickiest person in our party. Everything was tasty (with possibly the exception of the green beans; they were just plain) and the desserts almost destroyed us; we had to try them all several times over and we were already full from dinner! The characters took the time to take pictures with everyone in our party, and I really appreciate that. I can't think of a single thing that went wrong during that dinner, and for that, this place gets a solid ten from me. Can't wait to go again!

Pros:

character interaction; service

Cons:

Can't think of any
