It's a fun show and yes it is cheesy, but that is the fun of it. We happened to go last November right after the menu changed and it was not good. When we went 2 years ago, the food was good, but this last time it bordered unacceptable.
I think if you have not gone before try for the entertainment knowing it is cheesy, but do not go for the food.

Have now eaten here 3 times, twice absolutely fantastic and once good but not great. We find this to be one of the best restaurants in Epcot when the service is good, but poor service at this restaurant can spoil the meal. The choices are good, the portions decent and the chefs choice appetizer plate can be excellent. On our trip this year it was one of the two best restaurants on our trip. It is now on our repeat list for each visit.
Pros:
Great service when they are onCons:

I have enjoyed all three meals at Akershus but this time it was dinner. I love the way they do the appetizer course as a buffet. My kids ate more this way and I felt like it was a better value. Salmon and Mushroom Pasta were both good. This venue is well lit and the princess are very friendly. I also like that they include the photo package with the princess, Belle, as a gift!
Pros:
princess interaction and good foodCons:

We just stayed at the Boardwalk Inn from April 8-11th to watch our son play in the ESPN WWOS. The cast members at the Concierge were AMAZING! If not for Anita, we never would have made the first game to see our son pitch! Each cast member was special in different ways. Anita, Jackie, Jessi, Lorenzo, Pete...they made our stay so memorable!
Transportation to and from ESPN was a huge CON. This is really something that Disney needs to look at and correct. Many parents stay at the Boardwalk due to its location and proximity to ESPN, but getting there is a nightmare! The first day Anita, GOD BLESS HER!!!, gave a taxi voucher to get to ESPN and we made it in more than enough time to what my son pitch the first game...The second day of stay we decided to take the bus because we did not want to intrude. well, it took literally 1 and 1/2 hours to get there.

Enjoyed a 6 night stay at Riverside in April 2013. I had requested a connecting room with another family in Building 16 of Alligator Bayou and it was granted. Room was ready by 2pm. It was a standard room, ground floor facing the parking lot (which is what standard is) and it was great. The room lined the parkway but was very quiet. The exterior and interior doors were very sound proof. We had 5 kids between the 2 rooms. Really love the pull-down wall bed for my 7 year old. The room's temperature was easy to control with the new wall thermostat. Water pressure was great and refrigerator was cold. I like requesting a room about half way between 2 bus stops that way you can get off at the first stop (West or South) and walk. Food court was super busy every time we visited but there is lots of seating. The 2 reasons we would have to return is the bed for the 5th person (child) and the relaxing atmosphere versus a value resort. There is a marked difference between this resort and a value.
Pros:
clean, quiet,Cons:

Stayed there in August, 2012 at the Outer Building Club Level....OMG! It was positively perfect. There was always food there, not enough to fill you for a lunch or dinner, unless you just kept going up, but it was sustaining until a lite dinner.
The Cast members were amazing and right there for ANYTHING you needed.

This is easily our favorite character breakfast. The food is the best we have experienced on property. They have the regular breakfast options plus many brunch and specialty items you can't find at other locations. I love the Jungle Juice and Fresh Coffee! Really nice to see Daisy as well.
Pros:
large buffet with many different optionsCons:

Enjoyed lunch here on a Monday. The line was long but moves quickly. I had the steak sandwich, excellent! and the French Onion Soup. We also had a child's Mahi with peach applesauce which was good too. The fish is a really small portion so I am glad I did not plan for that to be shared. The steak sandwich was about 8" and could easily be shared. Very tender and the herb butter was just perfect! Had to make 2 separate transactions to order a soup as a snack and the sandwich as a counter but I was just glad I could use dining credits. You fill and refill your own drinks which was nice before heading back out into MK.
Pros:
Excellent Food Quality, line moves quicklyCons:

Really enjoyed our dinner here on a Thursday night. We had a party of 11 and they did an excellent job of accommodating us. Something for everyone to eat. Crab legs were incredible good, salty and steamed so they were dry and easy to crack. The carved beef was good as well as all the salads. The clam chowder was really fresh tasting as well. Plenty my kids would eat as well. Desserts- strawberry shortcake, pistachio cheesecake and tres leche was all very good. They had fried clams - we will have to try next time to book the fried shrimp night. My husband said it was is favorite meal. Much less frantic feeling than 'Ohanas and the food seemed to be a little better quality. Highly recommend!

We went to Disney Feb, 2013. Casey's Corner was a something I wanted to try and was looking forward too. The food we ordered, nachos and hot dogs were both very good, the wait wasn't that bad even being lunch time and very busy, the area could use a few more seats in my opinion but definitely somewhere I would eat again
