We checked in on April 3rd, 2013. Arrived via Magical Express at about 10:30pm, were met right off the bus by a hotel cast member, greeted by name and immediately escorted into hotel for check in. Check in was quick, luggage was delivered to our room at about 1:30am at our request (with our late arrival time we had a choice for luggage delivery as soon as it arrived or to wait until morning).
Our room, 5143, was on the first floor of the South Garden Wing with a nice walk out patio and a view of the lake. It was very clean and spacious. Easy walk to main lobby, pool. Beds were very comfortable, rooms were quiet.
Staff friendly and courteous. Only had one issue with housekeeping, in that one day our room was somehow skipped. We called the front desk to notify around 7pm and when we returned to our room at about 10pm, the room had been cleaned, towels replenished.
Did note that the room was in need of a bit of refurbishment, particularly the bathroom which had a few tiles falling off the wall and the shower head needed to be replaced (the only reason I rated the hotel a 9 instead of a 10). On that note, however, 3 days into our trip the first building of the Garden Wing (closest to the main tower) closed for reburbishment. During the rest of our 8 night stay, we witnessed new mattresses, carpets, desk chairs, shower heads and ottomans being brought in to the new rooms.
Location was fantastic. Walked into Magic Kingdom everyday (maybe an 8 minute walk). Found the Contempo Cafe to be efficient and the food decent (although not great). Bus transportation was also efficient, never waited for more than 10 minutes although once picked up we did have to travel to the Polynesian for guest pick up there before traveling to final destination.
Pools were fine, with music and dancing in the afternoons. Adults wished the poolside Sand Bar had later hours and the kids wished the pool slide was a little more exciting 🙂
Overall, we had a very magical stay. Would absolutely recommend and will definitely stay here again very soon.

We stayed here April 3-10 2013. Previous stays had been at Pop Century. The rooms at Caribbean are larger than Pop and much quieter. When we arrived we were in the middle of a full blown spring break yet we were able to eat with ease at the Port Royal and the bus service was always timely and not overcrowded. We never waited for longer than 15 minutes for a bus to/from the 4 parks.
I would definitely recommend the preferred rooms and stay in Trinidad North as you are close enough to every thing but isolated enough that the area is quiet.
Pros:
Very quiet area, nice "tropical" setting, good size rooms, Port Royale not overly crowdedCons:

I am a vegetarian. I told my waitress that and she went and got a chief to take me around to tell me everything that is vegetarian. There is so much to choose from. My husband who eats meat didn't even have any since he was eating all of the vegetarian food there too. The hummus is the best I have ever had. We were celebrating our 17th anniversary and our waitress came out with a special dessert for us. It was great. My daughter who ate meat really liked it too. I highly recommend this place

We really enjoyed all the garden food kiosks around the world. We tried every one of them and our favorites were the pork tacos (Mexico) and the Trifle Trio (between England and Canada). The pork had an excellent flavor and the trios (one chocolate, one berry, and one green tea) were a tasty combination of custard and cake. It was a lot of fun to try food options that are out of our comfort zone without spending a lot of money for each item. The flowers were beautiful, as always!

This was a a special dinner for my son's 16th birthday, who loves steak. It was very disappointing. My husband ordered the cowboy steak based on the server indicating that it was the house specialty. It was disgusting...tough and tasteless. When the steak was delivered he was asked if it was done to his liking by the server shining a flashlight on it because you could not see. Seems like a trick question when you can't really see it!
The only reason we rated it a 5 was because my son liked his steak. Yachtsman is much better. We won't be returning.

This was a most magical experience from beginning to end. I will do my best to try and explain every moment. First, at check-in you are held on the bridge until your table is ready. At first I was a little disappointed that we couldn't get closer to the castle to admire the detail work but we were only there for a moment. We had 4:45 PM dinner reservations and were seated almost immediately. Once our table was ready we were greeted by our host who took us up to the castle doors. He presented my daughter (6) with a candlabra to hold and treated us like visiting royalty as we entered the foyer. This personal attention was the reason for holding us on the bridge. We were taken to our table in the ballroom and it took our breath away.
Our table had striking red napkins fashioned into a rose and the place setting was set just so. Our host presented us with menus and within minutes our drink orders were promptly taken by our waiter.
Our meals consisted of the French onion soup and the champagne vinigarette salad. The soup was a hit and the salads were very light, I only wished it had a little more dressing. I suppose I could have asked for more, it just didn't occur to me at the time. For dinner everyone at our table tried something different. MIL had the salmon, firm and flaky. FIL had the cornish game hen, tender and moist. DH had the porkchop which was probably the most beautiful plate. The meat was a generously cut chop, tender and juicy, cooked to perfection. I had the scallops and shrimp in a lobster broth served in puff pastry. The seafood was succulent and the sauce was light but flavorful. My side vegetable was a saute of spinach and slivered carrots that went perfectly with the seafood. Others at the table had the asparagus, broccoli, and steamed green beans. DD had the child's steak and I was AMAZED at the portion and tenderness of the meat. So good I would have eaten it myself. DS enjoyed the pasta with marinara and mozzarella cheese, also a generous portion off the child's menu.
We were inside the restaurant about an hour and a half, and 4 times during the meal the soft music would rise dramatically and the Beast, our host, would enter the room and walk through the restaurant, greeting his guests. Then he would proceed to his throne room to take pictures and greet you personally. They staff only asks that you wait until you have finished dessert before visiting. This dramatically cut down on any wait as most tables finish their meals at different times.
Now for dessert. First, let me say that the meal was superb, best table service at MK, so we weren't hungry for dessert. Since we had two children and each of their meals came with dessert we decided to share theirs. Well, when the cart was presented, no one could resist. Again we tried to each get something different. We had the passionfruit puff pastry, the lemon meringue cupcake, the strawberry cream cupcake and the chocolate cupcake. The cakes were moist, the icing decadent and the filling in each cupcake was light and creamy. The perfect end to a fantastic meal.
After dinner, we visited the beast and then wandered around the restaurant to see the decor. DH, DD, DS and I had already eaten at the restaurant for lunch on a previous trip. My in-laws were being treated for the first time. This was a memorable meal for us all.

We have eaten here many times and will continue to do so. I NEVER thought I would eat German food as I am not a big fan of sausages and pickled things. However, I am so glad I gave it a try because it had now become one of my favorites. We dined here on 4/3 at 12:30 and were seated with plenty of time to eat and enjoy the show. We were right down on the floor and had a blast!!

I am wishy washy about the poly. On one hand I do love the atmosphere, but the other the rooms really need refurbishment for the price you pay. But, having said that they are being refurbished right now.
Pros:
transportation; monorail and ferry
theming
dining
grounds are beautiful
Cons:
rooms
outdoor walkway; rooms are not connected to main lobby
