Food review:
1/2 Slab of St. Louis Ribs - The meat was good, but the BBQ sauce added great extra flavor. The coleslaw as a side was good. I didn't get the beans.
Smoked Pork Sandwich - Good but also needed extra BBQ sauce
Key Lime Pie - Refreshing, good taste. A nice deviation from my usual chocolate cake dessert!
Chocolate mousse - Good as always. Disney does great chocolate cake.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake was no disappointment!! It was excellent - definitely a fork and knife cupcake! Enough to feed 2 (but I admit I ate mine by myself!) Even though I used a snack credit from the dining plan, I definitely would have paid for it!

We arrived 30 minutes early and were seated almost immediately. Below is my opinion of the dishes we ordered:
Crispy Honey Chicken - Good taste, not too heavy of a dish.
Sweet and sour chicken - Also good. Pretty much what you'd expect.
Dessert - Chocolate cake with raspberry sauce - Excellent, very dense.
Fried wontons - Excellent also. The crunchy wontons filled with cream cheese went very well with the strawberries and vanilla ice cream in the dish.
Pros:
Open and airy, not congestedCons:

One strike against this place was that even though we arrived 30 minutes earlier than our reservation time, others who arrived after us were seated before us. They were seating people close to their reservation time regardless of how early they arrived. I understand they may need to do this, but at least other restaurants have had the courtesy to tell us so we're not surprised when we're waiting. Also, we were accustomed at most other restaurants to being seated based on our arrival time as long as it was within 30 minutes of our reservation time. That aside, on to the review.
**First, an important note!** If you are on the dining plan, make sure to book this as the Fantasmic package if you plan on eating here. Why? There's NO extra charge or credits needed to do this at all, and then you get a pass for special seating at Fantasmic AND free appetizers! Additionally, we weren't able to attend Fantasmic the same night we ate at Mama Melrose's, and they accepted our special seating pass on another night! Even if you're not sure if you're going to see Fantasmic, it doesn't hurt to get the pass!
Our waitress was nice but a little absentminded, so the service was slow. Not horrible, but a little irritating since it took a while for us to get seated in the first place.
Appetizers: Mozzarella and Tomatoes - The tomatoes tasted good with balsamic on them, but the mozzarella was sadly tasteless. The other we got was Caesar salad which was good.
Entrees:
Chicken Campanelle - The portion was large but the taste was only so-so. As much as I love Italian food, I didn't want to over indulge in it because the taste wasn't anything special.
Oven-baked Chicken alla Parmigiana - On the other hand, this dish had great taste but I feel like the portion was medium, but could be considered small for my husband who has a big appetite. Thankfully we were getting appetizers and desserts with this meal
Desserts:
We were celebrating our anniversary so we got two mini-deserts on a plate, and I don't know what they were called. But I will say they were excellent!! The best of the three courses in this meal.

The theme of this restaurant is really cool. I get that it's gimmicky, and that's what I like about it. Below is the review of the dishes we ordered:
Chocolate milkshake - Really good and included as part of the dining plan.
Smoked Turkey Sandwich - Good but nothing special. The cucumber salad it came with was refreshing and had good flavor.
New York Strip Steak with blue cheese butter - Surprisingly excellent! The blue cheese butter is what it made so amazing, great flavor!
Peanut butter chocolate cake - Excellent! I really enjoyed this one.

I was worried about making reservations here because in 2009, I arrived about 15 minutes prior to my reservation time but was told that my wait would be over 60 minutes so my husband and I just left. This time, our experience was much better. We were seated in under 15 minutes and we were visited by all of the characters during our 45 minutes at our table. I believe this is because we booked our reservation time for mid-afternoon instead of high noon this time.
Looks were definitely deceiving. I had high expectations and when I saw the food, I was underwhelmed. However - the food actually tasted really good. Some of my favorites were the carved beef, potato salad, chipotle pasta, cornbread, pasta salad speckled with feta, and the Mediterranean chicken with white rice.
Definitely worth it if you have kids - just make sure to book your reservation for mid-afternoon, 2:00-4:00, to avoid long waits.

Ordered two cheeseburgers with fries. Burgers are great, it's the best burger place in all of Disney because of the big toppings bar. For mine, I added sauteed mushrooms and onions. They also offer hot cheese. Instead of adding it to my burger, grab a small cup full of it (the ones used for ketchup) for dipping fries in! This is probably my favorite Magic Kingdom quick service. Chocolate cake as always is great in Disney.

Really enjoyed the setup of this restaurant. There is a set menu so you don't have to bother ordering, and you get PLENTY of infinite food! Below is what we ordered:
Tossed mixed Greens with Strawberry vinaigrette dressing - The salad was okay, but I couldn't really taste strawberry in the dressing. The bread however was very good!
Roasted Turkey Breast, Carved Beef and Pork Brisket with Mashed Potatoes, seasonal vegetables, herb bread stuffing and Mac and cheese - All fantastic, we couldn't stop eating! I think the carved beef was my favorite of the meats, and all of the sides were so good. This was an excellent meal! Even though it was all you can eat, we didn't need seconds on the platters since so much food was provided.
Apple crisp with Ice cream - That's what the menu said, but I think it was some sort of cake with cranberries and vanilla ice cream. It was good, it just wasn't apple crisp.

Pepperoni Flatbread pizza - Very good! Not a lot of tomato sauce, but not necessary for a flatbread. Crust was crispy and delicious. Both my husband and I loved this.
Chocolate cake - Excellent as always, love Disney's chocolate cake.

We ordered the highly acclaimed Napoleon and it didn't disappoint, even though I'm typically a chocolate all-the-time girl. Great combo of creamy and crispy.
