Another great Carciofi pizza at Via Napoli in mid-April! And waiters Jacapo and Mattia were attentive and entertaining, sharing stories about Italy and inquiring about my 3 visits there. This location is the first dining reservation I make when I know am visiting WDW. The food is consistently good and it's always service with a smile!

Pros:

food, wine, waiters

Cons:

none

Review of The Wave Lunch/Dinner

We dined at Wave with five adults and four teens. Your experience at Wave likely depends on how much of a "foodie" you are. The menu is enticing and overall the flavors were good, but presentation was inconsistent and a few things fell flat.

All the entrees at our table were very good, sides more of a problem. The big draw for me was the fresh Florida vegetables, etc. and this is where they really missed it. Everything tasted fine, but the tiny serving of veg was limp and overcooked. I was expecting something bright and fresh...really bummed.

Several of us had the Char crusted ribeye - the char was well executed - actually kind of surprised show well they got that right! and the ribeye tasty...but cuts were inconsistent. The risotto cake was crunchy - not at all what I expected. My husband's tenderloin and pork belly was delicious and his side (the white bean cassoulet) was the best side of all. My friend ordered the swordfish special and loved it and the seafood pasta was pretty good. They did the wholegrain penne with chicken (instead of the seafood) for my daughter and she liked it - I tasted and thought it pretty average to bland. The rock shrimp cakes were pretty good - nothing exceptional. Really excellent wine selection.

In summary, the restaurant concept drew us in, no one was disappointed - and we had a great time, but it was nothing new or cutting edge.

Pros:

menu choices, cool lounge

Cons:

so-so service, boring presentation

Review of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

My 4 year old daughter had an 8am reservation, so she got to say the magic words and knock on the door to open the Boutique. She felt so important! We came with her already dressed up, so after a couple minutes, she chose a hairstyle (Disney Diva), the color of her hairpiece, and was seated in her chair.
The experience was wonderful, the FGiT was keeping my daughter entertained with questions and stories. Her hair turned out lovely, but after a few hours started to look like a troll doll on top and I had to keep smoothing it down.
The worst part of the experience was the Photopass photographer. He seemed completely disinterested and missed many shots, not just of my child, but others. At one point a photographer on the other end of the room came over to take a picture of my daughter because she saw a cute opportunity while the other photographer was leaning against the wall right in front of the chair.
Overall, this was a great experience that my daughter loved and we will definitely be back on our next trip!

Pros:

THE Princess Experience!

Cons:

Cost a bit high

Review of Pirates League at Magic Kingdom

We did this twice on our last trip, once for my 8 year old son, and once for my 5 year old daughter. For my son, he chose his pirate face and bought a skeleton sweatshirt. He had done this experience before, so it wasn't really new to him, but he enjoyed it just as much.
It was my daughter's first time, and she wanted to be a pirate too! She got the Empress Package. I thought it was just makeup and nails, so I did her hair in pigtails so she could be like Izzy from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. They made me take it out so they could do her hair, but she liked the way they did it too.
There wasn't a lot of space to take pictures and/or video and we kept having issues with people walking by because of the tight spaces.
They loved the part at the end (Top secret!)and thanks to Photopass Plus we automatically got the pictures. Unfortunately after about 30 minutes, my daughter cried about 2 tears and made a mess out of her makeup and which stayed that way the rest of the day, despite trying to fix it. Not the fault of the PL, but a lot of makeup for a 4 year old. Possibly return in the future, if the children still want to do it.

Pros:

Good contrast to BBB, Lots of fun for kids

Cons:

Tight space

The addition of food and wine for this event - reminded me of the first years for the fall Food and Wine festival. The lines for this event were short, the portions large (compared to the F&W festival) and no loud drunk crowds. Overall a very positive experience -

Pros:

the addition of food & wine to an already good event

Cons:

not as many Disney staff to discuss various garden set-ups - and the Welcome Center closes at 5pm

We came here for dinner after a bad breakfast experience a few years ago. The characters were fantastic, the service was great. The food wasn't bad, but was saltier than I would have preferred. I enjoyed this one better than Cinderella's Table, and all the same characters were at this one, including Cinderella! Would definitely do this with my daughter again, but will probably try breakfast next time.

Pros:

Character interaction

I had been wanting to eat here for a couple of years, so I decided to make a reservation this last trip. The scenery was lovely, we enjoyed the concept of the rotating dining room. The characters were great. There wasn't a lot of room to take pictures in front of the table with servers going by, but the characters made it work.
The food on the other hand was awful. I think the only halfway decent thing were the potatoes, and they weren't great either. Our server was very slow with bringing stuff to the table, especially the check. We saw two characters over again just waiting for the check.
I'm glad that we ended up trying it out, but wish it was much better. We will definitely not be going back.

Pros:

Scenery

Cons:

Food, Service

Review of Port Orleans Riverside Resort (Moderate Resort)

I loved staying at Port Orleans Riverside! I was here in December for a weekend with my husband. We loved the themeing of the whole resort. The attention to detail is really amazing. We were in one of the rooms in Alligator Bayou- everything about it was adorable, including the "wood" floor. With the recent refurbishment, everything still feels very new and clean.
The bus system is great, I know there are a lot of people talking about the sheer size of the resort being a downfall, but I disagree. I never had to wait too long for a bus, and didn't mind driving around the resort to pick up the other guests - it just meant I got to see more of it! It's important to keep in mind that this isn't a traditional hotel, and was never meant to be - it's a large resort with many things to explore and do. The landscaping is wonderful and it's nice just to walk around the winding trails.
It was also fun to be able to take the boat to downtown Disney. We actually saw otters at one point!
Mousekeeping was very considerate, we had left a DND on the door when we left but they still left a bag chock full of towels on the door handle, since the smaller pools don't have towels at them.
One of the best parts was Ye-Haw Bob in the River Roost Lounge - If you get a chance to go to his show, do! He's super funny and talented. However be sure to be early - the space is small and filled up fast. I ended up standing in the hallway just outside of the lounge to catch the show.
One downside was during a stay a lot of the games in the arcade section were not working correctly. I didn't go to Disney for the arcade, so it wasn't a huge deal, but if you plan on spending some time there, it's pretty worn out - maybe hit up Disney Quest instead.
I would stay at Port Orleans Riverside again in a heartbeat!

Pros:

new-feeling, mousekeeping, transportation

Cons:

worn-out arcade

Review of Saratoga Springs Resort (Disney Vacation Club)

My family of 4 stayed in a studio for a week, and had a great time. We were in Carousel, close to the buses (and also fairly close to the Paddock pool). The room was a good size for a week's worth of clothes and supplies, and the fold-out bed was very comfortable for our kids (12 and 8). The older daughter is approaching that "teen angst" phase, and probably would have preferred a hotel with a Haunted Mansion theme, but by our 2nd morning there was talking about how much she loved the setting.

The staff was friendly. Service at the Turf Club was wonderful (Rob was our server). Buses were almost always quick to arrive.

Yes, the sections are spread out, so until you learn your way around, it can be a bit of a hike, but overall, we very much enjoyed our stay here and are looking forward to coming back.

Pros:

Quiet, very peaceful setting

Cons:

Maybe a bit spread out

Review of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (Magic Kingdom)

I loved attending MVMCP. I plan to return to the park for the holidays and Christmas party as much as I can in the future.
I was a little unsure about only entering the park starting at 4 PM, but there's much fewer people than normal and I still got to do all the rides and attractions that I wanted to. I actually got off the Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin only to get right back on with no line- three times in a row. (What can I say, I love that ride.)
The park is absolutely beatiful all done up for Christmas, both during the day and at night with the lights. The cocoa and cookies are a nice touch.
The best part is obviously all the special shows and parades - this year they did a wonderful show projected against the castle, followed by fireworks which were amazing. The parade down Main Street was fun, with all the floats and characters dressed up for the holidays. They even make it "snow" with a type of foam. I can't wait to go back!

Pros:

decorations around the park, special shows, few crowds

Cons:

None!
