Review of Chefs de France - Lunch/Dinner

DH and I had a dinner reservation on April 26th. There were a lot of people waiting, and many people walking up trying to get in without reservations that had to be turned away. We were seated near the windows. Our server was very slow - we didn't even get our baguette until after our entrees had arrived. DH has shrimp/scallops, and I had the duck. The duck was good, and pretty reasonably priced compared to the "real world". However, the portion size on the seafood was incredibly small for what we paid, and as a result was pretty disappointing. The desserts were also very overpriced. For my money, I'd rather get desserts from the Patisserie - I could get two of them for the price of the dessert here. I'd also suggest that if you want French-inspired food, to get reservations at Be Our Guest instead. The servers are friendly, the atmosphere is better, and prices are more reasonable.

Our first stay there on a split hotel visit in a pool view room. LOVED the hotel. Our four year old loved seeing the animals at all of the look out spots. Jiko was a highlight. Partake in the evening hotel activities. Night vision goggles were a hit with the family.

Animals, charmCons:

Hotel was nice and close to great locations at Disney (walking distance to Epcot/Boardwalk).
The hotel had more of a business feel to it due to conferences going on – didn’t get the “Disney†feeling of being at other hotels on property.
Main complaint about hotel - we were on the 6th floor for a week and complained about bad odor in hallway (smelled horrible – complained three times). Our complaint didn't seem to matter to front desk. They did nothing to move us to different room and no other adjustments were made.
Also can’t partake in Disney Magical Express.
Pros:
Walk to Epcot and BoardwalkCons:

'Ohana is a must do for us every trip. We dined here recently and I wasn't too happy with the few changes to the menu (salad dressing change, only serve peanut sauce now) but that won't keep us from going back again and again. The food here is so delicious and one of our favorites. We love everything about the place!
Pros:
Love atmosphere, foodCons:

My daughter loves this place and always wants to have lunch here. We recently had a pizza, salad and cupcake and shared. It was perfect amount for a light lunch for both of us. She loves the pizza and the salad was fresh and good. The cappuchino cupcake was so delciious! It tasted as good as it looked. The theme here is adorable.

Great themeCons:

I recently grabbed a quick lunch here. I tried the Black forest ham sandwich and a peanut butter cupcake. The sandwich was huge! I had to take half of the meat out to fit it in my mouth. Definitely a great value. The desserts here all look amazing. My cupcake was great but very sweet.
Pros:
So many delicious pastries, cupcakesCons:

We ate at Be Our Guest for lunch in mid February. When we arrived at 11 am, the line was already down the walkway and around the corner. We waited for approx 30 min to get into the restaurant, and then another 15 to get to the order kiosks. This seems to be where it gets bogged down. I have food allergies, and the order process was much longer with the kiosks than if I had spoken directly to a manager/chef, which I ended up having to do in the end. Once we got through the line and into the dining room, our experience was great. It felt like a table-service restaurant. The food was excellent although for only the second time in many years of dining with food allergies at Disney, I was served an allergen but recognized it and was able to return it to the kitchen before eating it. Despite that, we would definitely eat here again. The theming is excellent and we really felt immersed in the story. The only other negative thing I would have to say is that the restroom, although beautifully done, is small for such a large restaurant.
Pros:
Feels like table service, great themingCons:

I love Sci Fi. The theme here just can't be beat. We had lunch here during our recent trip. The burgers are so good. My favorite ones at Disney. The reviews on the food aren't always great but if you try a burger you won't be disappointed. The shakes are wonderful as well.
Pros:
Love the theme! Great burgersCons:

We dined here recently for lunch. We enjoyed the onion rings appetizer, fried chicken meals and the brownie sundaes. We did not care for the vegetarian meatballs/spaghetti meal but that was more our fault for ordering wrong. The themeing here is so adorable. The waitstaff is great. Cousin Cooper was our server and he's the best.
